I first found this little gizmo over at Target four years ago when I wrenched my thumb by sleeping on it for hours. Squished the big joint. Super painful. Well, I did it again last week. Hurts so bad to use my thumb to pick up or support even the smallest items. Couldn't find my old one, so off to Target. Well, NO ONE sells the L/XL size in the stores anymore, just the S/M, which does not work for me. I have long fingers so I was extremely happy to find this size on Amazon. This brace is so clever as you can take one or both of the plastic rods out of it to customize the thumb area stiffness, not to mention adjusting the wrist area and thumb strap. And BIG PLUS for me; it doesn't look dorky or orthopedic at all. It looks kind of cool, actually, a little bionic. I feel like I'm part cyborg. LOL Seriously, though, it really soothes the pain and keeps me from accidentally re-wrenching the joint so it can heal. I purchased this in the size that supposedly would fit me. I was at the top of the scale. HOWEVER, I am a tall person and my hand is long. The brace came and it didn't fit well. It pulled down between the thumb and my hand and was uncomfortable. So that being said, here's the tip: If you are TALL and your hands are long BUT not wide, even though you fall into the small/medium category, purchase the next size up. These are totally adjustable, super comfortable, work to stablize but not imobilize so you can still use your thumb but without injuring it further. I love they a slim and not bulky and super easy to put on. They could use some better instruction. The instruction is on the box but isn't super concise. At first I though I had to work the laces somehow but no, it's just part of the wrap. I'll definately purchase again when this wears out. ALSO ONE MORE THING. Since this is a Prime item, you'd think it was returnable, it IS NOT, due to Covid. So make good measurements when ordering. It is a very good brace!!! Read more

Looser support, I’ll use these when graduating from my bulkier thumb spicas as my tendons heal. I have tendonitis in both thumbs/‘mommy thumb’. They’re too stretchy to offer enough support in the early days of healing but do think they’ll help prevent reinjury once I reach the stage of no pain. Support is nice and soft/comfortable on the right hand but the left hand is quite uncomfortable because the hardest fastener part is on the underside of the wrist when it’s reversed for left hand, it also has a harder strip that pushes on the outer wrist bone for the same reason. Wish they didn’t try to make it universal fit and just make one for each dedicated side. Read more

So nice I ordered it twice (mostly because I lost the first one and loved it so much). So I tried (and returned) a lot of braces. My thumb injury is in a weird place. I needed support, but still need to be able to use my hand. This brace is comfortable, breathable, flexible enough to prevent atrophy but still has the support I need. A lot of braces I've needed to pad due to rubbing, not this one. Other have stabilized my thumb to the point where I can't use it to grip things at all, this one allows me to complete day to day tasks while still providing support for my thumb and wrist. No rash from sweating in the brace or pain from rubbing. Its honestly been the best brace I've had. Don't know if I'll work for everyone, but hands down best for me. Read more

Disagree with description - definitely handed. Five star for the right hand and 1- or 2-star for the left. I ordered two of these to brace both thumb joints - I have arthritis in both hands. I need them for sports - particularly golf. The right one is great. The support is good, fit adjustments are great and it’s comfortable. Because they are not handed, the left one is of course opposite. As a result the fit is different and where the brace comes together is on the soft part of the palm - and for me causes a blister. Too bad they don’t make it for the left hand! Read more
