I used to have the typical massagers that look like a T or an L. What I really love about this one is the curve so you can very easily massage your neck or your shoulders or the bottom of your feet etc. I would never go back to the old style again. The only cons are the motor is not extremely strong so if you press fairly hard fairly hard on your muscles, you will stop the motor but you just back off the pressure and it picks up again.
