I take care of my own teeth. Haven't seen a dentist in 20 years. Don't need to. Low cost tools like this are something I think everyone aught to own. At least if you have a steady hand anyway, they are sharp as expected. The case is nicer than I expected and the tools easily fit inside even if you don't place them in with any particular care. This kit was exactly what I needed, and the price is amazing! I didn’t want a large professional set—just a simple scaler and mirror, and that’s exactly what this provides. The mirror is small, but it lets me easily see the inside of my upper and lower teeth, which is so convenient. Before this, I’d sometimes have to open my mouth ridiculously wide and use a hand mirror…haha! On top of that, it comes with a storage case, which is perfect. Being a hobbyist, getting into various crevices, grooves, etc. in order to clean out unwanted material is a frequent requirement. This kit was ordered to aid those efforts. The package was delivered in 2 days which matched expectations. The pick and mirror were in good condition inside their clear, plastic case. The pick and mirror measure 6" long with the center handle portion being just over 3/16" in diameter. They do not appear to be made from stainless steel given their attraction to a magnet. However, they are described as being made from stainless steel. Perhaps this is a more magnet-attractive alloy? The working ends of the pick are very sharp. And, are shaped to allow them to reach into difficult-to-access areas. The mirror head is small at 7/8" in diameter. I doubt that it will be of much use to me. I got these dental pick as a substitute for dental floss as I have been hearing about dental floss having possible microplastics since most floss are made out of plastics, and we still don’t know yet the full connection between microplastics and the blood–brain barrier (not to mention that we are only now just starting to understand the link between oral gingivitis and dementia). With all of that said, going with stainless steel for flossing felt like the right choice. Having a mirror and being able to pick out food particles is amazing; this was a little less than $5 at time of review which is a really good value! Read more
