I have began changing out or replacing some of my kitchenware. Before I got married my husband had some leftover stuff from a roommate couple, who moved out and left their kitchenware behind. Among that stuff was three blue tumblers, a knife set and holder, with a missing knife, assorted silverware, dishes, some small appliances, and some souvenir glasses . I have gotten rid of the knife holder because they left it grubby. I kept the knives. I got rid of the blue tumblers, small appliances and some of the dishes and silverware. I finally decided to get rid of the souvenir glasses too. This left me to have to buy some replacements. So far I’ve bought dinnerware, silverware, a pots and pans set, glass coffee mugs, and these tumblers. I used to like color tumblers, but after hanging onto those three blue tumblers for seven years I couldn’t stand looking at them anymore. So I looked around and found these. I like the feel of them and the way they look. The pebble type design helps to hold onto them when they’re wet. Someone mentioned that these “look cheap and look like the glasses in an old diner”. Then why buy them? This design does look familiar like the ones I have used in various restaurants, but I like them. I gave this item four stars because there are two things I don’t like. These are suppose to be sixteen ounce cups. Out of curiosity I measured how much liquid does these cups hold without adding ice. I calculated fourteen ounces to the top of the pebbles. Almost a quarter of a cup can be added to that but the liquid will be all the way to the top of the cup. That’s not in my favor if I am walking with the cup completely filled up. The second thing is there is a seam on both sides of the cup. Since these cups are designed for cold drinks I’m not worried about it. I have tested one. I had placed the tumbler I was using, half full, into the freezer to chill my water. I forgot about it. By the time I remembered it, it was ice. I poured more water over the ice to chill it and the tumbler held up nicely. The one thing I like about these is they will go with any color dishes. I plan to use these on Christmas. They are going to look nice on my table. At least they won’t clash with my Christmas Plates. Read more
