Great product but...
I really like the product. The first time i used it, I noticed after 1.5 days of having it on top of the wood stove that the water left a white residue on the grated top. I washed the steamer completely an then seasoned the cast iron that was not coated The outside of the pot and the entire lid inside and out. No more residue on it. Works very well. To season it coat bare cast iron with canola or grape seed oil. Any high temp kitchen oil, using papper towels or a cloth. Then wipe oil off with a papper towel so that the layer of oil is very thin. Place product upside down in a preheated 500 degree oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Do this two times letting the steamer cool between coats. Do not oil the ceramic coating on the inside of the pot. You can also put aromatics in it so that as the water steams away you also get your home filled with youre favorite fragrance. Read more
