Since I was just starting to try yoga for the first time, and just doing videos within my home, I wanted to buy a couple essentials but not spend a lot of money. This is a basic mat, but sufficient to me for my uses. I also like the block and strap, although a belt or scarf could easily be used instead of the strap. The video was a nice addition, and fortunately it is one I did not already have. Since I sweat profusely doing any kind of physical activity, I ended up also buying a slip resistant thirsty towel that lays over the mat; the underside has grippers to keep it from slipping. This was essential for me, as my hands and feet were slipping when trying to hold a position. But overall a good quality kit for someone who's starting to try yoga for the first time and wants some essential pieces without spending a lot of money before they know how much they'll get into it. I tossed the DVD since I did not find it the instruction on it to be helpful. It's way too fast for a beginner and does not focus on proper alignment and correctly doing the postures. Other than that, it's a great kit for beginners (like me)! The mat is good quality, travel friendly and not slippery. It has lines printed on it for alignment, I think, but one of the four prints have crooked lines so it defeats the purpose LOL. The others are fine though. Great, vibrant colour. I had seen this kit in stores, but always priced at about $40. So I jumped on the deal when I found it here for such a low price. All the items are great. They did not skimp & make the Yoga Mat thin, it is actually a standard Mat. The Strap & Brick are also the standard, not a cheaper version. So you really are getting a great basic kit for almost half the price you pay in stores & an even greater deal if you bought all of it separate. I have been using my Yoga items for class and home & they are holding up great. The Mat even has some "lined" areas which help show some of your growth..aka in stretching. Read more

I love the color of the yoga mat and block...they are a beautiful, bright, turquoise color. As for the quality and durability, you get what you pay for. The yoga mat is ok. I'll probably end up buying a different one that is a little longer and wider and thicker. The yoga block is smaller and not as thick as I'm used to, but it still does the job. As for the DVD, I found that the AM Yoga is simple and great for beginners. The Daily Yoga is a little more fast-paced than I prefer. It would be nice if the guy in the video wore a little bit more clothing than just a small pair of underwear, which was a little distracting while trying to get into my zone.
