Beautiful design and a pocket that fits my s24ultra phone with a heavy duty case. What a win for such a great price. Double zipper for easy opening and an extra back pocket. This mat bag is absolutely beautiful and of exceptional quality. I bring my mat with me 3-5 days a week on a 2-hour walking/public transit commute, and it has held up beautifully for 7 months- looks as good as the day I received it. I get many compliments on it. There is a pocket that fits a yoga block, but I often use this for other accessories (yoga strap, wallet, snack). There are two smaller pockets. I put my phone in one and my ear buds in the other. The fabric is very thick and sturdy. I never worry about my nice mat while it is in the bag. There is enough room inside that I can throw a towel in with my mat. The strap is very comfortable and puts the mat in a very comfortable position on my shoulder. It is no problem to carry the mat for 4 hours a day. Overall, this mat bag is fantastic. I would order it over and over again (but I don't have to because it is STURDY). Very happy. It's nice enough that I'd love to give it as a gift to a friend or family member who wanted one. Order it and you will not be disappointed. Read more

Simple, Neat (tidy), Roomy. Big enough for my mat and a full size towel. The side pocket is nice and roomy, perfect for keys, wallet, gloves, etc. Bonus: I didn't realize that there are two pockets on the other side. One is for your ipod, and the other misc. they are "flat" pockets not anywhere near the size as the pocket on the front. They also zip. Also didn't realize the zipper for the mat compartment ran the length of the bag and across the top, it is a double zipper. The only thing I would like to see different about the bag is the strap/handle is not adjustable and that would be handy I think. Also, would be nice if the bag was made out of a blended fabric cause I don't imagine that it is going to wash well. So, probably a hand wash and hang to dry. But, I love the simplicity of the bag and the design. Very happy. Thanks! Read more

I started doing Bikram yoga recently and ended up wanting a way to easily carry my mat around. I started doing research over the following weeks and thought I had decided on getting a strap that you could wrap around the mat. However, while looking for those and continuing to do classes, I quickly realized that I wanted (needed?) something that allowed me to carry ALL of my "stuff" (mat, keys/wallet, towel, etc.). So I researched some more and came across two Gaiaim bags, including this one. I absolutely love it.. as other reviewers have said it is big enough to fit my 70+ inch mat and towel. The larger pouch on the front easily fits my wallet, keys, and phone (but not those things AND a water bottle - which is fine as both of my hands are free with this bag so I can certainly use one to carry a bottle). The material seems nice and durable. Now for why I held back on 1 star: 1) they definitely should have used a breakaway clasp for the front pouch instead of the loop de loop closure method. it's really frustrating to have to go through the finger gymnastics whenever i need to get in there quickly. 2) they should have offered this particular bag (which has the nice big pouch in the front unlike the others) in other colors - or if they couldn't do that, they could have at least made the one color offering one which would hide dirt much better. Mine is still fairly new, but I know dingier times are a-coming...and I realize it can be washed, but still. Granted, it could be that they DO offer this bag in other colors but I just didn't see them (although I looked on both Amazon and Gaiam's website - plus I Googled the name of this bag with no luck). But the bottom line: For the price and for what I needed, this bag really can't be beat as far as what's out there! Read more

Perfect with headroom for a regular width mat. Easy to use and love the side pockets as I don’t often bring my backpack - enough to store keys and credit card. Good thickness and love the cotton and color. Adjustable shoulder strap. Read more

Cultivating mindfulness is an essential part of a yoga practice. Focused breathing and poses can help build that awareness. Having the right gear can be helpful, too. Mats, blocks and straps are the obvious, asana-based props, but getting that equipment safely to and from the studio is important, too. Yoga mat slings don’t provide protection against the elements, so I bought this Gaiam bag to hold my 5mm Aurorae Synergy mat. I love it. After a year of 5-day a week use, it's still like new. The 2”-wide and 36”-long adjustable strap means I can sling this bag over either my shoulder or torso even when wearing a thick winter coat. The bottom end is fully enclosed meaning you can tuck the mat onto that end, zip up along the side and over the top for a snug fit. There’s an 8”-deep Velcro-close cargo pocket on the bottom half, below the word “Breathe,” and a smaller 5”-deep pocket on the opposite top side. These are handy compartments for headbands , scrunchies, ponytail holders, and other little items. Cramming anything else in – like wallets, cellphones - while my extra thick mat is packed, would be a tight fit. I pack those items in the sackpack that also holds my cork bricks , towel , water bottle and strap . This bag is another outstanding product from a leader in yoga gear. Read more
