Several years ago at my daughters behest, we switched to Tide from the budget brand detergents. To my surprise, we immediately noticed whiter cleaner loads. The last year Tide did something to their ingredients. There is now a chemical undertone that smells awful to me and it is in every scent. Despite loving Tide's performance, I really needed to find something else. So I did some research and it seems of the major brands, most people feel that Gain and Pursil are roughly equal in cleaning power to Tide. Additionally, there were some reviews that seemed to prefer the scent of Gain over that of Tide or Pursil. The Gain was a little less expensive, so I gave it a try. The scent is just fine and more importantly it does indeed seem to perform at the same level as Tide. Thankfully I have found an alternative. I may also try the Pursil if it goes on sale. Read more

Been using gain for awhile. Often I’ll use one of their pods and one from a proven heavy duty cleaning laundry soap, and by mixing them I’m getting the great gain scent along with deep cleaning of a heavy duty soap. I’ve done laundry with just gain and it seems to clean fine on it’s own. My clothes get really dirty so I mix it up to keep it as clean as possible while getting a great scent. Read more

4/10/23 Update I purchased the pods in Spring Daydream and LOVE the scent. My clothes smelled good all day and these pods clean really well. Way better than Tide. ******** These came in the island fresh container, even the pods smelled like island fresh but my wet clothes had zero scent nor did they have any scent when removed from the dryer. I am stuck with a large container of these unscented pods. They do clean well though. I’m sticking with the original scent. Read more

I had been resistant to the whole “pod” laundry detergents. Like why are are changing the way we use laundry detergent?!? Lol I dunno but looking for a good value for the money and I really like the smell of gain so I took a chance and now I really like these. Just pop in a couple to the laundry machine and go. Works great, cleans clothes and smells great. Read more

Good scent and cleaning ability. Very easy to use, although a bit pricey, but you have to pay for the convenience of them I suppose. People in my household prefer the pods over liquid detergent.. It certainly is a lot less messy, i.e., no spills, etc. All in all, I’m pleased with the purchase and now I find I prefer Gain over Tide pods. The scent is nice, not overwhelming or too strong.
