cute lil controller tower 🎮
this is just my initial impression after opening the package. haven’t built it yet but wanted to document my thoughts i’ll update once it’s actually put together and holding me & my bf’s rage-weapons. 🎮✮ ⋆˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩👾 ✮ ⋆˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩ 🎮✮ ⋆˚。𖦹 ⋆。°✩👾 i got this two-tier wooden + metal controller stand so my boyfriend stops leaving his xbox controllers in random horrible locations like the kitchen sink, but also for me because i’m tired of my own controller having no cute, organized little home. the unboxing was actually kinda impressive. everything came wrapped and cushioned instead of raw-dogging it around the box like amazon loves to do to me. all the pieces were protected, nothing scratched, dented, dusty, or weird. when you first open it there are a bunch of parts, but it’s not overwhelming at all. it’s very adult legos. also it’s way bigger and more substantial in person than the listing makes it look. the wood pieces are shockingly nice. like… way nicer than they have any right to be for a controller stand. smooth, real-wood vibes, no splinters, no sticky varnish, no weird chemical smell. the grain actually looks pretty and not printed on ikea panel energy. honestly the wood looks better in person than in the listing. it’s kind of hilarious how aesthetic it is considering it’s literally meant to hold the devices my boyfriend flings across the room when he dies in his games. the finish is clean, the edges are smooth, and it doesn’t feel cheap or plasticky at all. the metal parts feel sturdy, like actual metal, not that sad bendy dollar-store stuff that warps. the finish is smooth, no dents, no chips, no weird oily residue. nothing rattles, nothing feels loose, and you can’t twist the supports with your hands which is always my test for is this cheap or just pretending not to be. it’s got that solid, weighty feel that makes you go okay wait this might actually last longer than my boyfriend’s controllers. the base is heavy in the best way. like it actually has weight to it, so when my bf inevitably slams his controller down after getting sniped for the 14th time, this stand isn’t gonna go flying across the room. it’s sturdy enough to handle the dramatic gamer energy. it doesn’t wobble, it doesn’t shimmy, it just sits there. honestly the weight makes it feel way more expensive. the little cable tray on the bottom is actually such a cute and weirdly thoughtful touch. i didn’t even realize it had one until i unboxed everything. like oh ok… cable management? in this economy? love that. it keeps the chargers from dangling everywhere and making the whole setup look messy. and the fact that it’s two tiers? honestly it makes the whole thing feel way more intentional and way more grown-up than random controller tossed on the couch. it’s way nicer than i expected. like the overall quality is giving woodworker not mass factory. the wood grain is actually pretty in person, not that fake printed stuff. everything came separated, wrapped, and protected so nothing got scratched or dinged. the screws look decent, the finish looks clean, and nothing feels cheap, hollow, or wobbly. it genuinely looks way more expensive than it is. this thing feels like it’ll last a long time unless someone literally body-slams. so far it’s giving i care about you and your ugly little hobby but i also need your desk & our living room to stop looking like a gamestop clearance bin. the quality is legit, everything looks put-together and intentional, and i’m actually feeling optimistic about the build. update coming once i drag out my tools and pray over this thing. i’ll let y’all know after it’s actually built and i see if it holds everything without wobbling or tipping.
