Exactly the same as new. I bought this to replace a worn out G8. It's pretty much the same as the G8 with the launch features and app features added. I don't really have any use for the frills, and for me it's at an unnecessary additoinal cost. But this is all that Garmin has now in a handheld unit like this. It was nice to save some money on this renewed unit though. My only real complaint about this thing is they don't include a belt clip. Only a mickey mouse style snap system you connect to it. It's clumsy to use. This is the 3rd or 4th Garmin golf GPS unit I've purchased and for all the money I've given them, you'd think they could throw in a decent belt clip. To make things worse, the worthless 'trolley' that's included can be replaced with an aftermarket belt clip by Garmin at a cost of $25. It's exactly the same thing except with the belt clip included. I guess they need my money more than I do. Read more

Other GPS units do that better. Other shot trackers do that better. But this device is the one that does both of those the best IMO. Battery life is great. On 70% I used it for 2 consecutive rounds with battery to spare. I use it at home to hit into the net. It gives me the stats I need to evaluate each shot. Great device. Highly recommend it if you are looking for something for the course and for practice, or both at the same time. Read more

I bought a refurbished Garmin Approach G80 - All in one for $467.91 from Amazon. When I bought it, it was described as used item but "looked new and works the same as new one". It claimed that there was a 90 day free return policy - no restocking fee was mentioned. When I received the item, it was greasy, oily, dirty and it did not work AT ALL. I returned it right away, long before the 90 day free return time period. However, I only received $382.91 back. I called Customer service, I was told Amazon charged me $85 restocking fee for returning an unsellable item. I explained that the item I received was ALREADY unusable; I hadn't even got to use it. Amazon still refused a full refund. When I asked to talk to her manager, the phone was hanged up. I was cheated and duped by Amazon; I had received a piece of unusable junk under the impression that I would be able to return it without hassle if it didn't work out. Originally, I had been hesitant to buy an refurbished used item. However, with 90 free return policy, I thought it was risk free to try a used one. Nowhere in the description did it say that a restocking fee was going to be added! It is a joke to sell an open boxed used junk and charge restocking fee. I feel being cheated and robbed, and I need full refund back to my credit card as soon as possible. Read more

This is a great product for the price point. It's hard to beat a launch monitor + GPS combo. That said, it's not the best in either category. Overall I recommend this product. I use it regularly during practice sessions and the numbers seem accurate on most shots. Just keep in mind this isn't tracking spin, so bad shots aren't very accurate. Read more

This device doesn’t pick up so many shots. It is also almost always 4-6 yards off on distance when it does pick up shots. The course simulator is useless and considers all your shots straight. The live on course stats are good for very broad things like front of green and back of green but leave out updates to courses like bunkers and hazards. Read more

Purchased refurbished unit. The screen is barely readable and almost just black and white. Even turning the brightness all the way up made no difference. Read more
