I have the Garmin dash cam mini & and Garmin dash cam 66W Both are easy to use, easy to step Up. The phone app is oustanding, very easy to use, Very helpful ref to angling the camera view, reviewing video, opions and set up. The magnetic windshield mount is great & its not going to move or fall off and it has a very small foot print on ur windshield & very hard to see looking in. WARNING, the part that sticks to your windshield, once its on the windshield there is no second try unless you get another windshield mount! Its sticks very, very well to the windshield! Note, it can be removed from your windshield very easy. I have done once already! $10.00 +/- for a new windshield mount on amazon. Dash cam 66W, is perfect in size, the video quality is beyond outstanding. I can read the lic plate of the car in front of me at a red light. The 180 degree angle is great without the bubble effect, it completely covers the whole front of my jeep. The night time quality is outstanding. The video is very clear and very crisp quality! The dash cam mini, is perfect in size if you do not want anyone to see it in your vehicle, the quality is also outstanding, the 140 degree of view is great. I use it for the rear of my jeep. The 2 types of usb cords are long enough and It will take any type if micro usb cord. A few Downsides: -it does NOT come with a nicro sd card! -you need one to use the dash cam! -to review the video on your phone app, the dash cam needs to be on! Personally not a deal breaker You can & i have reviewed the video on the micro sd card on my pc & tablet with no issues! Again the video quality is outstanding! Read more

INITIAL IMPRESSION OF GARMIN 66W WEB CAM: The Garmin 66W web cam is smaller than the pictures on Amazon give it credit and fits perfect under my rear view mirror. Did not care for the design of the windshield mount that shipped with the 66W web cam, so I purchsed the Garmin Suction Cup Mount (SKU #: 753759211547) and it works great! I really did not want to glue anything to my windshield to install the mount that was shipped with the unit. My 66W web cam shipped with Camera Software Version 3.00 which did not allow full functionality out of the box (camera options were missing within the configuration menu on the Camera) and version 3.00 would not allow my iPhone 6S to stay connected to the web cam, via bluetooth, using the Garmin Drive iPhone app when streaming live video of the web cam to my iPhone 6S. Immediately upgraded to Camera Software Version 3.40 but the update took a few minutes and appeared to have issues upgrading from version 3.00 to 3.40. Later tried again to upgrade using Garmin Connect (Garmin Connect resides on your computer) a second time and it appears that the upgrade did have an issue but it appears to have resolved itself on it's own this second attempt, from what I can currently tell. PROS: 1) Day time picture quality is very clear and crisp. An advantage when you need details, such as a driver's license plate. 2) Your videos and still photos allow you to configure and turn on a GPS stamp, and/or a date stamp, and/or a time stamp for every video and still photo captured from your dash cam. 3) The Garmin Drive application, that resides on your phone, allows you to take still pictures OR video clips from your iPhone, something that I found to be a very good feature. Just knowing I can take a still shot OR video clip of a license plate of a driver that is a hazard on the road is EXTREMELY beneficial and comforting to have access to. 4) The camera software is very customizable. For example, audio alerts (audible beeps) can be programmed to be low, medium or high. 5) The 66W web cam utilizes Garmin Connect software, that resides on your computer, for registering your product and for obtaining firmware upgrades to your web cam. Garmin does a great job with upgrading their firmware for their sports devices thru Garmin Connect and I am anticipating that Garmin will do the same for this web cam. CONS: 1) Night time video is okay but I would expect Garmin to make improvements to this in future models to stay up with the competition. 2) The 66W web cam manual that is online provides much more information about the 66W web cam than what is included within the box. I highly recommend downloading the 66W web cam manual from Garmin's site to configure the camera options properly from the start. 3) Like most firmware and software, early versions have glitches that cause the hardware not to function optimally . Garmin does a great job on keeping their sports device firmware upgraded on a monthly basis via Garmin Connect, so I am expecting Garmin to do the same with this 66W web cam I purchased. Overall, it appears that my research paid off. My early impressions of the 66W web cam are very positive. I will update the review in a couple of months after more use of the web cam. Read more

This camera is feature-packed and the picture and audio quality quite good. However, the Garmin Drive app and the camera simply do not get along. I have been unable to see a live-view, review pictures or videos on my phone when the camera is connected to the app. The phone will connect wirelessly to the camera and immediately disconnect in favor of my home wireless network. At the same time, the camera display states, "Connected" but does not transmit pics or video to the phone. I've followed all of Garmin's troubleshooting instructions including updating my phone's OS and using the Restore function in the camera. I even turned off my home wireless network!!! An email to Garmin with the camera's identification numbers resulted in no contact. However, calling the customer service number yielded a very helpful conversation that possibly identified my problem as an issue with Android, version 10. Using an old phone with Android, version 6 works well with all the features including live view and review. Hopefully, Garmin is working on a fix. UPDATE!!! NOW WORKS WITH ANDROID 10!!! Thanks Garmin! Read more
