Works great! We use it for camping in our van. My husband fabricated a window vent. We just plug it in, move it into an open area so that it has room to "vent" and it works great, cools down the whole van! Collected a good amount of water when we were camping in a highly humid environment. Needed to empty the reservoir twice a day, but that was the only time we've ever had to even empty it. To be fair, temps of almost 100 degrees Fahrenheit and very high humidity in August in South Carolina. Our van is black too so it really attracts the heat. We really like this unit. It works best when we keep the van AC running while setting up the floor AC unit. Once the floor unit is running we turn off the van AC. Then it functions perfectly since it doesn't have to struggle to reach a cooler temperature. No regrets, great unit! Read more
The media could not be loaded. I just got this air conditioner installed and up and running before the weather turned really hot and I'm so glad I did! This my be my smartest purchase of the year. My small living room gets insufferably hot during July and August. Last summer was awful. This summer I got smart and decided to invest in a portable air conditioner. In my case, having the air conditioner out in the living area works far better than having one in a window. I can easily position the unit to blow cool air near me or even on me. The controls are easy and the noise, although very audible, is not annoying. It is the sound of cool in the summer. The controls are very accessible and easy to use. The window insert is a bit flimsy in my opinion, but it is also very versatile. There are instructions to guide the buyer through the installation process. It was slow going for me for a while, but I'm so glad it got this running and cooling me off just in time. Read more
Overall, I'm really pleased by the air conditioner's quality & performance. The remote control is very handy. It's just the right cooling capacity for our 11 X 9.5 foot (104.5 square foot) bedroom. However, the exhaust hose of the included window kit is really thin, brittle, flimsy, and is not reinforced with a metal spiral ring (I took off one star soley because of that). So I bought another window kit that has a much better, heavy-duty, metal reinforced spiral ring exhaust hose vent. Read more
This thing sucks. Its loud on every single settings. God forbid you change it to anything other than cool, low, and 60 degrees. It will THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, THUMP and wake the household up. To top it off, it wont register button commands on the remote or the unit once it starts that for a good 60 secs to 5 mins. To top even that off - they dont offer service on them. Only a rebate to buy another device. Has to be another GE unit. This was the best rated GE unit I could find. I dont want a crumbier one. Id rather just have the money back and get a cheapie that sucks rather than a $350 one that sucks. Don't buy this. Youre gambling if you do. It cools, but its inconsistent as far as I can tell. Works so good, cools room quickly, easy to use and it’s nice and compact, not too bulky. Thermostat works very good, it turns on and Off when set to a temperature, and the digital function lights turn off after a while so the lights do not bother you at night. It is a nice airflow and it has low noise level, not very noticeable. It was a great value as it was bout use like new, but it arrived I great condition, very happy with the purchase. Read more
This air conditioner worked great, It blew cold air very quick and the remote was nice two. How ever there was two reasons for my return. One, the noise. I knew going into it that it would not be quiet but wow it’s like an industrial fan. And second and my main reason for the return, the attachment to the window. I feel as though I have a pretty common window, and for this to be this awful is incredible. One the part was broken on delivery, but even if it wasn’t it wouldn’t connect in the slightest. It had massive gaps around the outsides and was a thin piece of plastic that would move back and fourth to accommodate different sized windows. How ever this movement made the connection to the window even worse. It came with foam strips to cover the gaps, however this would do little to nothing to weather proof or even stop heat coming in. This one part of this 200$ machine was made in the cheapest way possible, ruining the entire thing and again was the cause of my return. Read more

I purchased this to lower the temperature by a few degrees because my mother likes it hot in the house. The good is that the unit does cool my room by two degrees. So if it's 74 in the house, it's 72 in my room. What I don't like is that there is literally no possible way to install the mounting bracket for the hose properly. I had to just kind of wedge it in to the space in my window without being able to utilize the included foam. It's probably not as bad as it sounds, but it is definitely a design flaw. The major problem is that while the unit cools the room by two degrees, it raises the humidity by ten percent. So, it's 72 in my room, and the humidity is at sixty percent! Granted we are located in Florida, but air conditioning should never raise your humidity unless the unit is too large for the room. My room is 120 square feet, so it should be doing much better than it is. I don't know whether I'm going to return it or not yet. I want to give it a few more days and see if the issue resolves on it's own. Honestly though, I can't recommend the product due to the trouble with installation and the rise in humidity. It should have been easy to install, and it should just work. It's been a disappointing day. Read more
