We have this one on our counter and another one as a built in when our old built in unit failed. It was difficult to find the right GE microwave to fit the hole with trim and wanted GE because oven, stove, dishwasher are also GE. Everything matches. This is the 2nd time I have purchased this microwave as my first one went out after using for about 5 years. The microwave is large enough to fit larger dish sizes and powerful enough to cook or warm food items quickly. I am only rating this a 4 because when first using this product, the door drug slightly when closing as well as turntable appeared to not rotate consistently. Both of these issues has cleared up with use but the quality control appears to be less than expectations. So far after a couple of months, the unit is working satisfactorily. Read more

This is my 2nd GE countertop microwave. By 2nd, I mean I purchased the SAME microwave again! That should say something about that microwave. My 1st I had for I think at least 10 yrs. I use a microwave daily. I nuke coffee, tea, soup, leftovers, etc. etc. etc. My 1st one never stopped working. It always worked perfectly. My problem is the panel began to dim. I could see the clock and the times I set pretty well if my kitchen was dark but I could no longer see it clearly in the daylight. I asked my son about fixing it. He said you know it's going to eventually go out totally. Well! I panicked. I truly love this microwave so much I searched for a replacement of the same model. This model is an updated version but it still works almost just the same. My only problem is I don't like change so I have to get used to the updated controls. The only reason I bought this unit is that it fits in my built-in cabinet setup, and I could reuse the trim assembly which would otherwise cost an arm and leg. I received the unit in about two weeks. It took couple of hours to install it in the Kitchen cabinet. When I turned on the unit, the inside light was not working and the fan was vibrating and sounding like a 747 on take off. It took another hour to remove and repackage for return shipping. The replacement unit arrived in 10 days. When I opened the box, I found the new unit housing was damaged and out of shape. At least, this time I was lucky not to have installed it. Repackaged and ready for return shipment. It appears like they are just shipping returned items. we had our last microwave which was the same model of 13 years and changed it out due to wear and tear although it still worked great. I was a bit disappointed in finding out that this was made in China, not the USA. Read more
