GE Profile 1 7 cu ft Over The Range Microwave in Stainless Steel with Air Fry PVM9179SRSS

This is the nicest GE Profile Over-the-Range Microwave/Convection/Air Fry unit. It's Top Notch in all aspects. We replaced a GE Profile Microwave/Convection oven (JVM1790SK01) that was 17 years old and only just recently started having turn-table problems. No problems in 17 years of daily use. Now that says something for GE appliances. The Seller (Home Supply USA) was fabulous with Lightning Speed delivery (4 Days) at the door. Packaged with care and no issues. All questions/concerns were quickly answered. One note: Be careful about replacing units with alternate brands as the mounting hardware can be different. In our case, I called GE ahead and they recommended the unit that would best match and they were correct. We have a custom install using a 5-inch bumpout. I would not have known about it, but GE took care that we would have the least problems with the install and it was perfect. The unit is HEAVY at about 70+ pounds... Be prepared. This GE unit PVM9179SRSS is very nice and you will be glad for it as we are. Look for Side Space fillers and a Bumpout kit (Part Number JX15bumpbb) for deep cabinets when ordering. Some bumpouts are 3 inches and like the one we have is 5 inches for an 18 inch deep cabinet. Side filler kits are to take up space (if any) on the sides. Vent out straight up with baffle, Vent out back or No vent (Recirculate out the front) comes with the unit. Glass Tray, Metal Tray and Air Fry stand comes with it. I am not impressed with microwave combo. At first I was confused on how to actually use it, since it has a dial. Figured it out, but the food plate is extremely hot and food can still be cold. It's a learning curve from my old GE. It is nice and sleek and love the stainless steel. Read more

The oven was really easy to install. The instruction manual was easy to read and follow to use the oven properly. Noise level was ok. The oven functioned really well. It was very easy to cook in it. I made a lot of food in it. I would buy this oven again and recommend it to others. It’s worth every penny spent. Read more

The microwave is great, but the shipping cause a little damage. Not enough that I’m going to try to return a 60 lb appliance, but enough to see the damage every time I look at it. Of well, next time I’ll just buy local. Read more

So this is to mount over the regular oven however if you are using the oven below and need to use this o e too, once if feels hot it shuts off and starts the fan mode to cool it. Not very helpful when you need to oven to cook with. Not very even heating either. You need to rotate the food halfway through bake time. Read more
