I love gearwrench products and love the fact that they put these repair kits out letting me get more value out of a product that would otherwise be sidelined the quality is the same as the original product sometimes better if something has been redesigned or updated the kits are easy to install with simple understandable instructions would also like to mention their warranty is about the best out there with simple easy to use form on their webpage I have never been turned down for a warranty claim on any product I have purchased Read more

I have a 1/2 120xp 24" ratchet that somehow a friend managed to destroy. I took it apart and discovered a gear had a marred up tooth on it so I got this kit and rebuilt the ratchet myself. It was super easy to do, comes with everything to fully rebuild it and good, clear instructions. Read more

Figured I'd try and rebuild the ratchet before trying to file a warranty claim and when I went to install it the direction selector would not fit correctly. Determined that it was due to a slight flaw in manufacturing I filed a slight lip off of it and got it on my ratchet. Of course after doing that I thought to look at the rest of the parts and none of the other parts fit quite right, its close enough you would think at first glance that you're just imagining things. Sadly I wasn't imagining it. After looking at Gearwrench's own website it says this fixes model 81306P. I have version 81306XP. I look on their website for 81306P and my XP model ratchet is the only one that comes up so I figured the model number was superseded to my model. Nope. Gearwrench says the repair kit for my specific ratchet ending in XP is 81099XP which is actually a rebuild kit for a 1/4 inch drive ratchet, so not even they seem to get this stuff sorted out correctly on their own website. Given that I took my sweet time in rebuilding the ratchet I'm outside the return window. Bummer. Read more

Installing was a bit of a challenge. For me, It required a vise, snap ring, needle nose and assorted vise grip pliers, a little heavy grease and reading the instructions finally. I used the vise grips to keep the head from flexing. Good Luck! Read more

Great kit, honestly expected it to be way more expensive but this was great. It may be wise to take apart your ratchet before buying though, the nature of my ratchet's brake made it very difficult to remove all parts, thankfully I was able to get it, but for some there may be no way to use this kit.
