It’ll work, but not well.
While yes, this technically holds a weighted vest, it has some serious flaws. The system for mounting this hanger to the wall is very robust, especially if mounting directly to a stud, I cannot speak to the drywall anchors. My two biggest isssues are the width of the hanger, it is far too narrow. I had to force the shoulder straps on my vest inward to fit on the hanger, and I fear that they will slide off. The other major issue is there is very little clearance between the hanger and the wall, so it is very awkward to hang anything on it when it is wall-mounted. I ended up temporarily mounting mine to my squat rack, which is a terrible location and will not be permanent. I am not a fan of this mount and would not recommend it. Using 1” threaded pipe works a lot better and is more customizable. Read more
