These are pretty cool I’m actually going to order another for my computer area and maybe one more for the living room. If anyone is having first time issues, make sure you press the big white power button next to the cord, then hold the clear button until it flashes blue repeatedly. Now your ready for set up. I got this for my desk lamp and powered speakers (Kanto YU2.) Since WFH began, reaching under the desk everyday for the lamp switch and fiddling with my speakers' volume became a real pain. With this outlet and the free SmartLife app (I can confirm it works!) I schedule everything on my desk to turn on before I start working and turn itself off in the evening. The 2 USB charging ports are very useful as well. One issue I encountered was, when I initially placed it right by my wifi router, It had a really hard time syncing in the app and staying on my wifi network. It was frustrating and I almost gave up, but moving them apart from each other fixed it and the experience has been seamless for months now. Read more

I hooked this thing up in my studio so that I could use my phone to toggle the power of some of my audio equipment that doesn't have an on/off button, and save some electricity when the studio isn't in use. I've only had it hooked up for a couple of days, but it has already done this more than once! Basically, for no reason at all, the power strip will randomly switch off and almost immediately turn back on again. This causes a big voltage spike/power surge which is potentially very damaging to professional audio equipment. If this happens even one more time, I'll most definitely be returning this device for a refund and investigating alternative power management options. A surge strip should never power cycle like this for no reason whatsoever, especially not a "smart" one! Aside from what is connected to the Geeni surge strip, none of my other equipment had any power interruption when the Geeni strip power cycled, so I know the issue was isolated to this device and not some other systemic problem with the power here. I like the outlet, it's convenient and for the most part, works fine, my issue is that it turns on and off randomly, and sometimes it does it continuously. Because of this I couldn't use it with certain things that need to be on for the most part. Other than that it is easy to use but because the issue is persistent I may not be able to use it anymore. I have other Geenie outlets (the single ones) and they work fine, so the problem is just with this specific product. Read more
