I was reluctant to order this product at first given the steep price tag. now I see this as a wonderful investment. I tried out the kit for the first time and I am so impressed with the results! My nails look as beautiful as if they were done in a salon and I haven’t been to a salon in months because of The quarantine. now that I’ve used this I won’t be going back. It was so easy to use, and I’m particularly fond of the red polish that is included. It’s wonderful to not cringe every time I look at my neglected nails, and knowing that my polish can survive all the hand washing and hand sanitizer is great. Gelish has been around for over 13 years and paved the way for gel polish becoming mainstream in nail salons. Years ago I would go my own gel manicures...I got a little lazy and decided to go back to the salon. COVID hit and all the sudden I had to go back to doing my own manicures! I just purchased this kit after using a UV light for the past 9 months and Oh. My. Gosh. What a difference! With the UV light it takes a minimum of 2 minutes per polish layer to cure, which makes an average manicure seem like it takes forever! 45 seconds is amazing and is definitely a game changer. Since it’s quicker curing it also seems to have a much even cure (I did have issues with the UV light not curing fast enough and leaving small bubbles). I did purchase white nail tips to give myself an easy French manicure. Gelish is one of my go to gel polishes (I like Gelish and OPI because of quality and color selection). Yes, the unit is a little pricey but so is a gel manicure (easily $50 each time, so this pays for itself almost immediately)! Read more
So far, so good. I got this yesterday and tried it out for the first time today. I'm really happy with how easy this kit is to use and also the fact that it came with two full size color polishes. Everything was exactly as described. It comes with everything you need to do your gel manicure at home. My nails turned out much better than I ever expected them to, considering it was the very first time I had ever tried a gel manicure at home. I have very thin natural nails and the gelish line has made my nails feel much more thick and strong, hopefully this means I will be able to grow them out and not have them tare off due to how thin they are without polish on. I absolutely love this kit and would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to do a gel manicure at home. In the long run it will be much less expensive than going into the salon to have them done, as well as much more convenient. Pretty good set. Everything you need to give DIY gel manicures a try. The product was a little too thick (especially the base coat) and my nails are short so was a little hard to work with. I’m going to try some gel thinner and see how that goes. The picture is the red from the kit. It’s only been a few days but seems to be staying on so far. One thing to note, I had to cure the topcoat 3 times. When I first did the manicure I cured the topcoat twice and noticed I had a dent in one of them the next day. So I cured them one more time and that did the trick. Also, like another reviewer, my bottle of pink polish had no bristles, just a plastic stub. I contacted the company and they sent me a new bottle (not just a new brush/lid). Read more
This was an initial high-cost item that will save me money in the future. I have done my nails twice now, and I believe that my home-done manicures are lasting as long as the salon ones. I am not a professional manicurist, but I have had them done often enough, for long enough, that I have learned the procedure. But it is easy to just read the instructions. The instructions are quite clear, and give you a step-by-step path to a beautiful polish. The kit is complete, with two full-size bottles of polish - a "hot rod red" and a pale, almost invisible on your nails color. For me, the longest "job" is taking off the old polish, but I believe that, as my nail beds heal from the improper techniques my manicurist used, the polish will soak right off, just like it's supposed to.
