The best way I would describe Gendarme is super clean and soapy. This is my #1 go to for fresh scents. My other clean fragrances that I use are Aqua di Parma colonia edc, more citrusy, Tom Ford neroli portifino, Aqua di Gio and Davidoff Coolwater. Gendarme lasts on my skin 8hrs and 10 to 12 on clothing. It is not overpowering but more moderate. It’s very hard to find in local retailers for some reason. I can tell you that the bottle I received from this Amazon seller is 100% authentic. No doubt in my mind ! The pricing online is the exact same everywhere $120 4oz and $85 2oz. I always liked Gendarme for its scent that was pleasant but not overbearing. This latest purchase was neither. Of course, after reading the return policy, I find that it is not returnable, so I am out the purchase price plus the shipping charges. I am not angry, but very, very disappointed with this purchase.
