This package comes with the unit itself, two head attachments (one for the nose/ear and one for other hairs like sideburns, eyebrows, beards), a cleaning brush, an instruction manual, and a usbc charging cable. The unit itself is very light weight and seems to be made of durable plastic, but I would be careful not to drop it on a hard floor. The instruction manual isn't quite necessary as it's straightforward but just don't use water to clean the base unit only use the brush and all the other attachments can be washed. The unit comes w/ the nose/ear attachment already on the unit. To take it off you simply make a quarter counter clockwise turn and pull it off. Same thing to put any of the attachments on, find the right spot to push in and make a quarter clockwise turn. In terms of the performance, the nose trimmer worked pretty well. You get the satisfying crackling sound of the hairs being trimmed as you go around inside your nose. There is a slight burn smell that comes up, but nothing too bad. For the hair trimmer, I only used it on my sideburns and it seemed to work well, but I wouldn't call it a very close shave, just enough to get it about skin level. Charging is easy enough using the usbc port at the bottom of the unit. Part of why you shouldn't get this unit wet is because the usbc port is exposed. Overall, for me, this is an effective nose trimmer with a bonus that I can use it for trimming some facial hair as well. A small carrying bag would've been nice. Read more
This is working well for him, very much like his last unit. On the one hand, it's a cheaper sort, of the type that will last a few years on average. On the other hand, it's quite good with his thicker nose-hairs. It works well, but it won't last for a decade like the ones they used to sell (twenty years ago), and he pointed that our rather immediately. The quality is what I'd call average for today, very much like the ones you see in the drugstore or Walmart, and it comes with the same basic included-attachments. But that's the quality these days, and they don't make them to last forever. The housing is lightweight, so it's easy to hold, and it's shaped in the standard fashion, so it was easy for him to adjust to using this after his last one started sputtering a couple of months ago. It was time for a new one, and this came up, and it's basically perfect, in a world of cheaper options. But I've never again seen the type he had years ago, that lasted for over a decade before it failed. That required a plug-in-adapter for the wall and had many interchangeable heads and a sleek metal-housing along with a central covered-blade that could be sharpened or replaced, but it also made a noise like a train and woke his dog. And that wonderful dog was less sensitive than this wonderful dog, so it's better that this is quieter than the old generation, from many years ago, and it doesn't need the outlet to work, and the cheaper materials are reflected in the price, so it's much more economical in the short-term. Basically, you can't sharpen the cutter, it won't last forever, and it's made to be landfill in a year or two, a lot like the Remington travel shaver for men that you buy and take with you on trips until it's dull and then you throw it away (he has one of those too); and this bothers him enough to insist that it's a four-star item, because a five-star item wouldn't be in a landfill in two years. And perhaps he's right. I'm so accustomed to tech that wears out quickly and ends up in the garbage, that I can't really remember what it was like when durability and longevity were a priority in manufacturing. He says four-stars, and I say five-stars, because it works on his thicker hairs and it's quiet enough to not annoy the dog. But I'm not really thinking about the issue of waste. In the end, we disagreed on this, with me saying five-stars for being quieter than the last one and working well on his thick hair, and with him saying that it's barely a four, because it's clearly not built to last more than a year or two, with regular use by only one person. He was clear that, if two people used this, it would be dull and slow and not working properly in less than two years, and that's just too wasteful for him. And so I went with four-stars, and wondered why things like this don't have replacement blades or, better yet, single blades like the old style that you could sharpen. This vibrates, with cutters, plural, in the head. The original style was a single blade inside a housing, and it spun under the housing to cut hair. It could be sharpened or replaced without having to toss the unit, but those were metal and built to outlast your Grandpa, as he used to say. The USB-C charging port is extremely convenient. This replaces an old battery eating device that I previously had, and no matter how fresh the batteries that thing would never have kept up with this one. The end cutting attachment is pretty handy for trimming ear and nose hair, but the included comb type attachment is the star for me. I'm at that certain age where hair grows like a fertilized weed everywhere except on top of your head, so there's always trimming in abundance to be done. The comb-like attachment does ears and nose hair as well, but it's also handy for touch ups around ears, sideburns and beards. The internal battery is putting out pretty well so far. Not certain how long it will run on a single charge, but I probably have a good 15 minutes of trimming on my first charge and it's still going strong. There's also a nice little cleaning brush included, for getting down inside the device, but so far it's been easy to clean by just removing the attachment and blowing it out. Can't say enough about how much of an improvement the rechargability and the comb attachment are. They take these type of trimmer from toy-like to highly functional grooming tool. If you had one of those old weak battery ones and found it as disappointing as I did, do yourself a favor and try this new and improved type, I think you'll like it. Read more
For the cost, this ear and nose trimer does what it's supposed to and I'm content with it's performance. It cuts those unwanted nose hairs or is great for removing that stray eye brow or other unwanted hairs. The trimmer is easy to use, does not pinch or pull and is priced right for what it is/does. Simply twist on/ twist off one of the two cutting heads making it easy to use/clean. The trimmer is small, compact and simple that comes with a charger cord and two trimmer ends - one for nose/ear or eyebrow and a small cleaning brush. A small storage bag/pouch would be a nice inclusion(comes with none), but I keep all the parts in the small plastic holder it's packed in and store that in a drawer for organization. The plastic packing tray is not that great for a dopp kit so I'll just throw into a small pouch for travel. Overall it does what it's supposed to and is affordable. Regarding durability and longevity that's yet to be experienced but for the cost, easily replaceable if necessary. Read more
