They are UL approved or listed, I forget which one but I did look it up. They're relatively straightforward to install. YOU NEED A NEUTRAL WIRE. I've installed 3 of these in my home, and likely will look to get the 3 way switches at some point. We've had one issue where the physical button didn't work and I had to flip the breaker. When I went into the app to check on it afterwards, there was actually an update waiting for that EXACT problem. I had it on auto-update, but there are certain ones that do not auto-update. The quality feels a bit cheap, the look is nice, though I am not the biggest fan of their branding on the wall plate, those are cheap and easily replaceable. I wish the switch itself was a toggle up or down rather than a physical button push, but as I have not used any other smart switches, I don't know if this is a universal design or typical to GHome. I bought into this product when they were named Gosund and use a few of their smart receptacles for standing lamp lights. The LED light is app-controllable, you can set it to be on when the lights are off, on when the lights are on, or off entirely. Read more

I have 20 of these installed. At about 4 years of everyday use, the chance for failure (needing replacement) goes up considerably. I have needed to replace 5 units over the last 5 years. No problem if you are able to repace them yourself. Switches are controlled via Amazon echo. Requires knowledge and comfortability around home wiring. Early units came with connection wires. Current units require you to supply connection wires. Read more
These WIFI smart switches are great! I have replaced almost all of the light switches, in my house with GoSound switches and they work great. However, I did just have to replace 2 of them in the past month, after about 3 years. One of them seems to have had a mechanical failure, the switch failed, and the other seemd to have the electronics fail. The first one, that quit working had no indicator light but the second failed switch, appeared to be on, when the switch was pushed the indicator light lit up but did not complete the circuit. (because of that, I almost returned the brand new ceiling fan I purchased from Amazon) If you have an older home, like mine, with cloth insulated wire, the electrical switch/outlet boxes are smaller than the new boxes and it's a bit of a challenge to fit the switch into them, but with patience, I was able to fit them all in. I've coverted my home to a smart home and the biggest thing that separates them from the other brands of smart devices is that they connect and reconnect to the network every time, the first time. I have had quite a few other brands, that don't reconnect after being moved or if the network reboots. This is very irritating, indeed! Perhaps this is because GoSound uses their own app tho control them and they integrate with Alexa flawlessly! As long as the switches don't all start failing now, I'm good! Shoulders that be the case, I will update my review. Read more

I wouldn't recommend anyone using this brand of switches. I started using these years ago and they worked fine for the first few years. Then one stopped working. Within a month several stopped working. I ordered a new pack of 4. Shortly after that several more went out. Some would just not sync up anymore, some wouldn't even power on manually. Sometimes it's the newer ones breaking again. Since then I've ordered several more pack of 4 and it almost seems like the company has some sort of control over them and keeps breaking them just so I'll buy more. **NOT happening anymore. I'm done!!!! Read more
