I recently purchased the GiGimundo 7-Port USB 3.0 Hub, and let me tell you, it's been a game-changer for my workspace. I've got a laptop, external hard drive, mouse, keyboard, and even a USB fan, all vying for those precious USB ports. This hub has made my life so much easier. Pros: Compact Design: The 0.5ft short cord is perfect for a clutter-free desk. It's small enough to tuck away but still easily accessible. Ooops! Right when I needed it.
I inserted an SSD external in the port nearest the laptop. It worked and is still working. I inserted a thumb drive in the middle port. It worked. I inserted another thumb drive in the port nearest the Ejack end. It did not work. I switched the devices around and each worked with the exception of the on closest to the Ejack end. I checked to see if all three externals worked in another laptop port and they all did. My conclusion is the port nearest the Ejack end does NOT work. I've had the hub less than a month. Bummer! right when I was going to merge two thumb drives I find I cannot. Read more
