I am a courier for a medical center and drive to 40-50 medical sited per day, picking up medical specimens from various locations and transporting them to different hospital labs. I carry many different implements with me, from pens and markers, schedules, keys, PDA, etc... I needed something light and comfortable, with plenty of pockets for storage of the many implements. This vest fit the bill perfectly. The sizing and overall fit really surprised me. I'm 6'2" and 230 pounds and normally wear a 2XLT. I figured I would give a 2XL a try, hoping I wouldn't need a larger size. The fit is fantastic! It is long enough that I don't look like I'm wearing my little brother's clothes. That was one of my biggest concerns. The length actually comes down to cover my belt. It looks like it was made for me. Why only 4 stars then? A few reasons. Firstly, the front zipper functions backwards, meaning the zipper pull is located on the left side as I wear it and not on the right side as typical. I'm slowly getting used to that. Secondly, The many pocket corners should have been reinforced better. Some of them have started to come loose. Not a large deal breaker. I can hand stitch a few tacking points on the corners of the pockets. Thirdly, the D-rings near the top pockets would function so much better, had they also been located near the bottom pockets. With those 3 things in mind, I honestly cannot give it a 5-star rating. I would, however, give it a 4-1/2 star rating if I could as 4 stars is deceivably too low. My review is on the perceived quality of this vest. I’ve yet to get rough with it, and I will. With that said, I examined all the stitching and all is in order. I’m rather fussy about how clothing is stitched and have returned items for that reason, poor stitching. No worries with this vest. Stitching is consistent, neat and tight. Pockets: five Velcro closed pockets, five zipper closed pockets. There are also two easy access pockets on either side if you want to warm up your hands quickly or grab your Carmex etc. It’s evident to me, great thought was put into the arrangement of TEN pockets on the front of the vest. All of them are easy to get to and open/close and each pocket is placed in an area where it can serve a purpose without crowding other pockets. The only thing that I found unusual is the fact that the zipper is a left zipper, like one might find on a woman’s coat. That feature I’m not crazy about but I can deal with it. I’m more than happy with this vest, I’m thrilled! The quality seems better than expected and the lightweight, breathable fabric will allow me to sit in the warm sun without baking. Overall, 100% satisfied. Will put it to the test over the next two weeks. If it holds up I’m going to get one more in a different color for myself as well as several for gifts for brothers and brothers in law. UPDATE: I am a size 42. I ordered a large and the fit is near perfect. UPDATE #2: I’ve worn this vest for a great variety of activities including fishing and working around the yard and shed. I’m happy to say it’s held up to all the use I’ve put it through and get this, I found hidden pockets. My original ten pocket count was inaccurate. There are a few more than ten. Fifteen maybe. I use this to keep a bunch of stuff while tinkering around in the backyard. Knife. Gloves, tape,etc. I like how it fits and the variety of pockets is very helpful. Read more

QC Dept was asleep at the switch on this one. Overall assembly was fine but: a) The buckle on the back was installed backwards and will not hold the adjustment strap properly. b) The zipper is on the left hand side, should be on the right - might be a cultural thingy but annoying. Read more

Just received mine in army green, it has 14 pockets of which 4 internal with 2 chest pockets, it does not have pockets in the back or 16 as stated, the back one is on the mesh vest. I like it, size medium because I gained some weight with my regular being 150lbs. I am 5’3” female and it fits fine with the armhole a little big but I plan on using it over a sweatshirt. I bought this for traveling since airlines are too cheap with carryon weight of only 15 lbs, these pockets will be stuffed! It’s cotton poly blend so it should last. I do recommend it if traveling.
