Unusual Device.

Just received my hand crank generator on 4-12-25. It is unusual but impressive with it's clear cover revealing the interior electronics. No mention of the material of the box but it has all the appearances and feel of ABS plastic. The clear cover is probably Polycarbonate. The cranking mechanism is smooth and the red LED voltage readout is clear. Normal voltage is supposidly 5 Volts but I've cranked mine up as high as 11.5 Volts on the display. The 3 blue "batteries" on the bottom are probably in fact capacitors. The variable 18 LED cob light is surprisingly bright on maximum setting but can be diminished down very low. The arc lighter works well but consumes power much more aggressively than the LED light. Ability to recharge other items I've not yet tested but for having a reliable arc lighter along with a reliable light is impressive. If in fact this unit DOES have Capacitors as opposed to batteries, they are capable of hundreds of thousands of cycles and don't mind the cold or heat. I actuality recommed this unit even just for being a curious, useful novelty. Read more

Weak charge per crank spin

For something at such a price I expect a decent charge per spin of the crank Read more

Good but should come with a warning label

This product is good, but should come with a warning label for those that have children. There is an external device that may shock your child if you are not paying attention, especially when you press the button to release the energy that has been stored up. The quality is really good. I would recommend to anybody who will be traveling or camping IThis product is good, but should come with a warning label for those that have children. There is a external device that may shock your child if you are not paying attention, especially when you press the button to release the energy that has been stored up. Outside of that the quality is really good. I would recommend to anybody who will be traveling or camping. And won’t have access to energy. Read more

Don't buy this is you want to charge your phone

I bought this because i collect lighters and liked the look of it, it was just for the novelty. It does work well, but the electric arc makes a horrible nails on a chalkboard sound. The light also works well but its not very bright or all that great to use as a flash light. To charge a phone the voltage needs to be above 5 on the meter and you have to put it on the 2 switch but after spending alot of time getting it up to 9 it dropped to 5 in a matter of seconds. It was charging my phone though. So as far as i can tell to charge a phone you would need to crank it the whole time the phone charges so for like 30mins straight which i suppose in an emergency if you had nothing else it will do that with a lot of work. Weird

This came with zero instructions, so the only information I could find on it is what was on the listing. I cranked it for a bit, but it never said what I should crank it to. I got it to around 8.3, and tried plugging my phone into it to charge. Nothing happened. No charging. There was a light that came on in it so I thought it should be working. The little flash light on it works. I turned it off and while it was just sitting there it went down to about 6.3. So I cranked it some more. This would be super cool if it worked, but I could never get it to actually charge anything and with no instructions for use, I've given up. Read more
