My dog uses almost exclusively potty pads as opposed to going outside, so I look for high quality at a decent price. I was pleasantly surprised to see Glad making potty pads at such a reasonable price for the amount you get. I like the fact the carbon filler reduces the smell and contains the urine by absorbing almost immediately. I literally NEVER smell pee as it absorbs all of the odors. That would be enough right there, but a big bonus was the fact that the greyish black color totally eliminates the embarrassing fact that your house is essentially being used as a giant toilet for your pet lol. I always replace the pads right away, but have to look closely to see they have been used as opposed to just seeing a giant yellow spot that screams "gross". I feel so much more tidy using these, and they attract my dog just as the others did. I have not had much of an issue with leakage. Sometimes when my dog really has to go and has a particularly large puddle on there, I can feel the definite temperature change as i fold it up and sometimes wonder if it is leaking, but the carpet stays dry underneath and again, there is literally NO SMELL EVER. Only when he poops, but that is all of them. I get one large box a month and it seems to last longer than other brands I have used which saves me money. It's a total win on all points. Great purchase. Read more
I purchased these after I was unable to find the brand I normally use at the grocery store. I read a lot of Amazon reviews about numerous different pads and was frustrated because they weren’t very helpful. There was no consensus. Even the top rated pads would get several, seemingly credible, awful reviews. I definitely needed something absorbent and leakproof but also at a fair price. I have a chihuahua and 2 senior Weimaraners that sometimes use the pads as well. These pads are the best I have ever used and also the most affordable. I get 150 pads for $2 more than what I was paying for 100 pads at the store. They do an excellent job of eliminating odor and they absorb alot-they can handle the urine of a 60lbs dog without leaking. They having a more pleasant appearance after use, as well, since they don’t have a top layer that is white, they don’t turn an unsavory yellow color after doing their job. It did take my dogs a couple of nights to get used to finding them in the dark, since my floors are quite dark, but only about 2 nights. I have been reordering these pads for months and wouldn’t consider any other type. Read more
Glad Pee Pads are by far the best pee pads I’ve ever bought. I have tried almost 10 different brands, but these are truly the best. They absorb great! Most pads I have used in the past, despite how little a dog goes, I find a puddle underneath the pad itself. Not with these Glad pads! They absorb everything - even large “messes.” They are leak proof which a huge plus to me as I was tired of cleaning up a puddle despite a pad being down. Plus, the price isn’t bad at all when you compare the value and absorbency of the Glad pads to other brands. I have tried so many, including the more expensive ones, and Glad is the best by far. I have 3 dogs and a doggy door. However, I have an old lady Chihuahua who simply will not go out at night due to fear. Therefore, we started buying puppy pads to place on the bathroom floor for her at night. These pads are really great for the smell compared to the blue and white ones! Really!!! Those blue ones reek! These black carbon pads absorb the ODOR quickly and the color stays NEUTRAL with the black CARBON lining. Great! The only problem is that when my little Chihuahua goes potty at night, there is a 50/50 chance that the pee will ROLL OFF THE SIDE of the pad and the pee will be under the pad in the morning when I see it. It looks as if the white edges (there are 2 white edges) of this carbon pad DO NOT LEAK, but the solid black edges do (there are 2 black edges). (See the image of the product to understand that 2 sides have white-lined edges while 2 sides do not.) Some days I have a mess to clean up, but other days it is fine. It simply depends on how close to the edge my little doggy goes potty. If she goes potty in THE VERY MIDDLE, it works just GREAT!! If she is near one of the edges, I might have a MESS IN THE MORNING. The pad only absorbs so quickly, and the gel can only form so fast; however, this does not mean that there should be a leak. I really think the company should work on the binding on all 4 of the edges. I want to address a few of the other customers who took pictures of their "pads not working" and posted them here with negative reviews. At least 2 of you have used the pads UPSIDE DOWN. Of course, the pad will not absorb pee on the plastic side! You have to put the mesh, webbed CLOTH SIDE UP. The plastic side goes on the bottom. Yikes! Really people!?! If you are someone who rated this product low, but YOU WERE TO BLAME for the product not working, you should be ashamed of yourself and come back to this page for a more accurate and honest assessment of the product. Really! Also, I want to assert that if your dog uses these every day, you should CHANGE THESE PADS EVERY DAY. I understand that if you have a big dog using these, you might need 2-3 a day, but even then, they cost pennies a day! I got my 100 pack for $17.00. This works out to $.06 a pad. If your dog pees on it, by the end of the day, you should change it! CHANGE IT after a day. You don't have to change it right after he/she pees on it, but you should be changing these regularly. Come on...don't blame the manufacturer for defective pee pads when THEY WORK for your dog to pee on but then you don't change them enough and so your pet goes potty on the carpet next to the pad. Come on. Let's be logical here. That is not a manufacturing issue. That is a YOU issue. Be kind to your pet. Don't make him/her step on gooey carbon gel on a plastic pad to go potty. Change it once in a while! Read more
We've bought these several times now for our stubborn rescue dog, and they never disappoint! The charcoal layer really helps control odors, and the absorbency is top-notch — no leaks or messes to clean up. They're the perfect size for crate training and indoor use. Honestly, they've made potty training a lot less stressful for both us and our pup. Highly recommend if you're dealing with a dog who likes to do things their way! Read more
