I used to be a chef, always looking for a good chef knife. Before I met Global, I was always worried about not having a satisfactory knife. Now I've finally finished my wish. Add me to the rusty knife group! This knife is sharp but boy is it prone to rusting with tiny water droplets on the blade, after 20 minutes. My other Global G-55 absolutely doesn't do this. Will be returning the product. Read more

I love using this knife, especially for pico de gallo! The weight and ergonomics are what I expect from Global: Very good; there is better, but very good and at a great "bang for the buck" product. I caught it on sale for $160 after watching and waiting for many months. I do think it's worth the full retail price, though; I'm just a bargain fiend. Others have noted that this knife is more vulnerable to oxidation than Global knives owners are used to and I've found that to be a merited observation. I thoroughly dry the knife using a pass with a second dry towel to absolutely get every bit of moisture and have no issues. But, I did get some rust colored speckles after not properly drying the blade one time. Read more

This cleaver is awesome. I added it to a small set of Miyabi Birchwood knives (chef and pairing knives). It’s an awesome knife. Nice and heavy, it practically cuts through things with gravity alone, barely requiring any down force to slice through ingredients. It feels great in the hand. Very ergonomic. It is especially great for smashing stuff, turn it sideways and quickly flatten out meats, garlic, herbs, etc then start chopping away. Read more

Very happy with this Global knife. Excellent example of medium weight (general purpose) Chinese style chef knife. Finish is what you would expect for this price. Sharp as received. Handle is quite substantial and thicker than those on my other Global knives which might be an issue for people with small hands. Back of blade is nicely rounded and feels good in a pinch grip. Thickness and taper on blade is similar to my Forschner Chinese knife, but the Global is heavier due to the steel handle. Read more

Global are very nice knives. They are well balanced and hold there edge well. This cleaver is a little heaver than some but is a dream to chop with. The knife almost does all the work! Read more
