Keep on skimming..
Bought this kit to repair my son’s very expensive skimboard. It worked very very well and we were able to achieve excellent color match to all 3 board colors using what was in the kit. It is very easy to use, very inexpensive kit, and saved a very expensive board. Now, keep in mind, we were fixing divots and nicks, but the board was still intact. Can’t speak to a board in worse condition than cosmetic issues. But very happy with the kit for what we needed. Read more
Great solution for repairing damaged fiberglass.
Easy to use gel coat. Comes with small color tube (black) that matches well enough on my boat. everything is included to do a good job of repairing damage. Read more
It works, but the color is a bit see-through, making repair area obvious.
Works OK but takes a long time to dry and it’s very see-through no matter how much color you add to it you can always see the repaired section. The long dry time makes it run easily so make sure and mask off a large enough area. Despite those issues, it is still worth it. It’s a good price for being able to do your own repairs on cracked fiberglass. Read more
Nice kit, cures white, opaque, waxy/glossy finish
Not bad for a gelcoat repair kit - it does come with fiberglass sheets, but I would not try to use this on anything structural. The tube makes it for an easy estimate of the 1:1 ratio you need of resin and hardener. The kit comes with a sundry of tools for a few jobs/repair sessions. You will need to find some additional supplies if you need to work multiple areas, or larger surfaces. Not bad for small dings and repairs. Recommend working in small patches/sections so the compounds don’t harden before you are done. The spatula/spreader/putty knife is key in getting the finish as close as you can to smooth. You can use sandpaper (you will need more in quantity and higher grit) to polish off imperfections. The finish is glossy white, and a little transparent. Excess comes off relatively easily (I used the off brand wipes) before it cures for easy cleanups and oopsies. Read more
This is only for a minuscule repair.
Ok but so tiny. There is barely enough to cover maybe a a 6” long thin crack repair of any given color mix. If that’s all you need? 👌 Read more
