The solid black-shaded lamps are quite well-packaged and very easy to put together. The pieces screw together into themselves and are not wobbly - feel very sturdy. The thick, flat, fabric-covered cord feels like it won't wear out/crack like the standard plastic ones. The base is heavy (quality) - which means there's no worry about tipping the lamp over when turning it on or off. The pull chains are excellent and don't cling-clang the center pole when released. The light is contained inside the shade - it only shines down, not up or through the shade. I love the way they look and I feel they are perfect for the bedroom when I'm not yet ready for the overhead light in the wee hours. These lamps are super affordable and seemingly great price. I love the bronze color and the silhouette of the lamp itself as well as the shade. They are extremely easy to assemble and work great! I was hoping for more of a metal-look/feel to the base but they do look more plastic and slightly cheap. These are going in the den in our basement so they will work fine for now but will need to be upgraded eventually. For the price though these are excellent lamps and look great, just wasn't entirely what we were looking for (and maybe I just need to read descriptions/item info more carefully). Read more

These lamps are so nice! I purchased the Dark Gray with the metal shade for my college son's bedroom/guest room, as I wanted a bit more masculine vibe. They are very good quality and fairly heavy. I love that they have 2 bulbs, so you can control how much light. I wanted lamps that had the switch on the lamp and not on the cord, and metal lamps are hard to find like that. These fit the bill perfectly! Easy to assemble, but here's a tip that I use when assembling floor lamps as well. Screw the pieces on from the bottom up. When you get to the top piece, pull the cord all the way through the base, then twist the top piece the opposite direction about 6-10 times so when you screw it on, the cord won't be ridiculously twisted inside the lamp. ;) There aren't really any instructions with the lamp on how to assemble, but this will help. I really do not understand the negative reviews on these lamps. These are not high end lamps but very nice and appropriate quality for the price. Assembly was super easy and everything worked and looked as presented. Shades are very nice quality and the lamps look great in my living room with my brown faux leather furniture. Good product for the price point. I would buy from this company again and would recommend to family and friends. Read more

Love this lamp! Great style and price. I use this on my nightstand and having a large switch on the base is so useful. Having a dimmer switch is a bonus. The only thing I’d redesign is the switch should be on the opposite end of the wire, not right above it. The switch should be closer to the user. UPDATE: Broke after a few months of use. The dimmer twist knob came off. It looks like the set screw is too large and doesn’t secure the twist knob. I contacted Globe customer service and did not get a response after a few weeks. Maybe I will try and JB Weld epoxy it back on. Read more

Delivered promptly, neatly packaged and easy to assemble. They are obviously not metal but painted plastic, and are quite a bit darker than bronze. Nevertheless, they are attractive and good value for the money. My only complaint is that one of the shades is damaged (a rather lengthy scratch that is only visible when the lamp is turned on). I didn't notice it until both lamps were assembled and the packaging discarded. Hence, the three stars instead of five. Read more
