GM Genuine GM 25890530 High Mount Stop and Cargo Lamp

Well my husbands 2008 Silverado crew cab is his baby. After noticing water inside the light he inspected the light and the gasket was missing in a few places from simple old age . Rather than remove the light , remove the gasket and run a bead of silicone calking around it while waiting for to dry then reinstall it he bought this hoping for the best.. Wow it went on like a charm. He pressed lightly on the lamp so it depressed the gasket then snugged up the two screws. Super easy and a from all appearances genuine factory part. Great product and with amazon prime it was here in two days. Cant enough great things about Amazon, Amazon Prime and this replacement roof mounted third light . My only disappointment is the fact that I couldn't just replace the lens. The lens is molded into the lamp housing. So for a $5 lens I had to purchase the whole assembly at $90+ which is a good price compared to an auto supply at $135+. So this a good deal in a bad situation. As far as installation, very easy. Fit perfectly. After reading reviews concerning a tight seal I added a light coat of clear silicone to rubber gasket just to be safe. Read more

Recommend an inspection of condition of this light as it can allow water to leak into the interior. Surprised to find my original cracked in several places I ordered a new OEM replacement. Perfect fit, self sealing, no additional gaskets or goo, simple one plug connector, brilliant lighting that is visible for a long distance, and replacing the older lamp not only gives confidence that it won’t leak but, it looks really good while making your vehicle look maintained. Simple to install by removing 2 torks screws, unplug, clean around the opening for good adhesion, plug in the new one, and return the screws. Read more

This appears to be a genuine part, however, i'm replacing a similar part that not only cracked in two places, but had poor contact between the gasket, and the truck, causing a small leak. If you do order this item, make sure to order the aftermarket gasket (also available on Amazon). I installed mine using the new gasket, and some silicone, as suggested, and have had no issues since. brand new light! fit perfect on my new body style 2007 Silverado crewcab. popped a couple LED lights in for the cargo lights and it works great. old one was cracked and it took me like 2 years to finally find this and bite the bullet for an $80 light but I'm glad I did. actually ordered this light this morning and they delivered it and installed it the same day. This OEM/AC Delco unit uses a softer, denser rubber type gasket. I tried a cheaper led light first, it would have required silicone to seal since they use a foam gasket which is both thinner and less conformal than this oem unit. Read more
