This is the part needed to delete the rear heat in a gmc safari or astro van(mine is a 1997). Mine had leaking rear lines to the rear heater core. The metal lines are discontinued. Repairing them is possible with patching in rubber hose but this fix is easier in my opinion. Original had a 6 port valve. Simply install this 4 port valve, remove the rear heat valve, plug the vacuum line from the rear heat valve and cap off the 2 rear hoses that go to rear core up front while your installing this. Purchasing a set of hose clamp pliers makes the job far more easy. Also they make 5/8 rubber caps for capping off the metal lines for a clean repair. I now have no more leaking coolant at the rear core where it enters the van and my front heat works far better than before. Be sure to check your vacuum lines going to this new valve and also don't forget to plug off the vacuum line that went to your rear heat valve that you removed. You will loose a little coolant and make a mess. Top off coolant after running and assuring there are no leaks. Read more

I'm turning my van into a camper so the rear heater had to go. It pays to go with Delco original equipment. The hardest part was dealing with those factory hose clamps. Helpful if you have the right tool for that (which I didn't). Read more
This part solved the coolant leak I was having with my '98 Astro Cargo van (without rear heat). The plastic on the old one had deteriorated after 20 years. Perfect replacement. Read more

Replaced the original after fixing up the cooling system. New one has a small leak after 3 months. This is a fragile part made entirely out of plastic. Read more
