We got five of these. For all but one, something had to be tweaked. We were replacing 30(?) year-old knobs. Latches would not, literally, fit through existing hole in door requiring having to enlarge hole. Latches would not go into existing hole in door jam, being too high, too low, or too far forward. Plates for door jams are bronze on one side only. I put black magic marker on edge you can see straight on. But they are on and beautiful. Read more

I ordered these door handles to see if I would initially like the change of going from round to square handles. The quality of these doorhandles are superb much much better than the builder grade that we originally had. They’re heavy. They’re sturdy, which is exactly what we need for our two boys. It really elevated the space in our home and super easy to install. It took less than 10 minutes to remove old door handle and replace it with a new one. NOTE: it does come with a silver latch plate (odd) so you will see we opted to keep the bronze that we originally had because my OCD would not allow for the color variation, and that worked out perfectly especially since the next task on my husband‘s list is to change all of the door hinges to the bronze color. Both the look and the function of these is great, as described. However (this was my reason for returning), both the strike plate and the latch plate have much sharper corners than the standard cutouts for them. Even if you have a router to create the openings, the corners are rounded. As such, neither the latch nor the strike plate quite fit. Attempts to manually chisel MDF doors/frames was not pretty. Had to return and go with a different brand, as I had a number of these door handles to install in a new remodel. Read more
