Nice but has a pretty significant flaw

These are very pretty nice looking sconces, that seem pretty durable and go together well, they would probably work as hard wired sconces. We tried using them with the battery operated bulbs instead of hardwiring, but it's almost impossible to get the battery bulbs in and out without removing the shade. In addition the light from those bulbs (the most common design) comes from the top so it doesn't really illuminate this fitting as the bulbs sit very high in this sconce design. With a regular bulb and hardwired these would light up great. The biggest issue we had with these is that the shade is too wide and the arm that it mounts on is not long enough to prevent the shade from hitting the wall (see photos). It's a very silly oversight and means that these really can't be mounted plumb, they will always be leaning forward. You could get around this by mounting these proud of the wall on a box or plinth but you would really need to want that look. Read more
