Coarse side works well

So, bought this at Dollar Store, not Amazon, but it deserves a review for a $6 scape sharpener. So, I have 2 kinds of kitchen knives. The shun knives that just got sent back for warranty sharpening after about 20 years (different review), and kitchen aid/dexter knives that open everything from sharks to cardboard boxes. I got this for my cardboard box steak knives. The coarse side worked good to put a slicing edge back on my abused knives. Just to experiment, I used the “fine” side, and my good slicing edge went away. So, not sure the point, maybe it works good on an already sharp knife? But the coarse carbide side works good, so, 4 stars. Read more
