Built in pump is a nice idea

I'm not sure how many sleeping pads I've been through by now, but we've had at least half a dozen over the last decade and a half that the husband and I have been camping together. They've ranged from the super heavy truly self-inflating to the super lightweight kind made for backpacking. This guy falls somewhere in between, in that it's not going to offer quite as much comfort as the ones that weigh a ton and actually self-inflate, but it's not going to be as barebones as the very thin (but tough and often very expensive) ones meant for backpacking. For about $25, this is a good middle of the road mat for those who don't camp often and really only plan on being out in the warmer months. Given that I couldn't find an R-value listed anywhere on the product page, you have to know that this isn't going to offer much insulation if the ground you're on is very cold. Padding is pretty standard for an inflatable mattress, and self-inflation isn't exactly the same as what you would imagine if you've used other self-inflatable mattress in the past. You do actually need to do a little work to pump it up yourself, but it's truly just a little. It takes a little work to get it to exactly the firmness that you want, but once you've got it dialed in, we didn't have any issues with it leaking air overnight. The little grippy silicone dots on the bottom of the mat are really helpful in keeping it from sliding around. I'm not sure if you've ever been in a situation where you've had to set up your tent on even the slightest incline, but if you have, you'll know that these sleeping pads (and our bodies) have an uncanny way of slooowly sliding down the hill over night, even if the incline is almost imperceptible to the eye. These dots DO actually help with keeping your mat from just traveling down the hill with gravity, which is great. The built in pillow is hit or miss, depending on your preferences. I happen to hate having a pillow bump because I want to have my own pillow that I can slide my hand under to support my head at night, but if you're trying to be really minimal or don't sleep similarly, it's a nice-to-have feature that lets you bring one less item along with you camping when you're probably already schlepping a bunch of stuff to the campsite. I'm short and the pad is really long, so I just set up my bag so that my head is below the bump and all is good. Overall, this is a nice little mat for a really attractive price point with some extra features that make it a step above some of the competition. Read more

Thin and lightweight, this mattress works well and stores compactly

I got this for occasional use when a large air mattress isn’t practical to use. It is very long, so good for a tall person over 6’ tall. It inflates up to about 2” uncompressed but don’t expect it to provide any cushion when kneeling on it as it requires even weight distribution to not bottom out. When I laid flat, it provided good support for me at 180 lbs. The pillow might be handy as it is built in but since it is part of the main chamber, it fully inflates and sticks up a bit higher than I prefer. I’d say if it was a separate air chamber with a manual air cap, it would be easy to self inflate or just avoid doing that and use a regular pillow. Air inflation is achieved by stepping on the inflation pad after opening the black air cap. It took a good number of push steps to get it to full inflation and since the air opening is in the center, you can’t use your foot or it will block air ingress for inflating. Might be better if the air cap could be moved to one side. Overall it works pretty well and the silicone grips on the bottom kept it from sliding around on carpeting. Read more

Super Comfortable, Easy Foot-Pump Inflation & Packs Small – Lightweight Pad That Stays in Place

This sleeping pad is a great option for camping or travel when you want something comfortable without carrying a lot of extra weight. It’s lightweight and packs down small, so it’s easy to fit in a backpack or camping bag. One of my favorite features is the built-in foot pump, which makes inflation much easier than blowing it up by mouth. It only takes a short time to get it fully inflated, and it’s nice not having to bring a separate pump. The pad feels surprisingly supportive once inflated and adds a good layer of comfort between you and the ground. I also like the slip-resistant design, which helps keep it in place inside a tent instead of sliding around during the night. Overall, it’s a comfortable, practical sleeping pad that’s easy to inflate, easy to pack, and great for camping, backpacking, or travel. Read more

decent sleeping pad if you're in a pinch

The self-inflating sleeping pad is decent, but not perfect. It’s comfortable enough for a night’s sleep, and I like that it inflates on its own without much effort. It’s also lightweight and fairly easy to carry, which makes it convenient for camping trips. The downside is that it doesn’t fully inflate to a firm level — it feels a bit soft in spots, and sometimes I have to add extra air manually to get the support I want. The edges can also feel a little uneven on rough ground. Read more

Lightweight, slip-resistant, inflatable camping sleeping pad

I recently used the GORILLA GRIP Slip-Resistant Self Inflating Sleeping Pad on a camping trip, and I must say, it's an absolute game-changer for anyone looking for comfort while outdoors. The self-inflating feature made setup incredibly easy and hassle-free. It inflated to the perfect firmness without needing to manually pump air into it, which saved a lot of time and effort. The slip-resistant bottom was especially impressive. Even on uneven ground, the sleeping pad stayed securely in place, which ensured a more restful night’s sleep without sliding around. The padding itself is thick and comfortable, providing excellent support, and I appreciated how puncture-resistant it is, adding peace of mind when camping in areas with rough terrain. At first glance, the pad seems compact and lightweight, yet it offers more than enough comfort for a good night’s sleep. It’s perfect for camping, hiking, or even just relaxing outdoors. The durable build also makes it an excellent choice for long-term use. Highly recommend this product to anyone in need of a high-quality, portable, and comfortable sleeping solution for outdoor adventures! Read more
