I have a number of Govee lights throughout my home. They work great, are very adjustable, and easy to use. I've bought other smart lights in the past, but Govee connects to wifi easily and I was up and running with Alexa without a hitch. Trying to connect other brands to wifi and voice activation has been consistently difficult and undependable. These spots are very bright with vibrant colors if you choose something other than white. The white also can be adjusted in temperature. They also have different themes you can choose if you're in the mood! I had a problem with a broken power cable and Govee customer service sent me a new complete set of spotlights within a few days under warranty. AMAZING! There are plenty of preset scenes to choose from, and the app makes everything very easy to control. It’s intuitive, reliable, and allows for total customization of colors, brightness, and effects. I have a lot of govee lights, and I mean a lot. These are perfect for the outdoor space you want to light up. I have mine about 14in from my house facing up so the light casts upwards. It provides the perfect atmosphere for any occasion. Halloween, Christmas, or security lights, they work perfectly and the brightness is adjustable. Setup is easy. I recommend making a hole to put the steak in. I used a piece of rebar, worked perfectly, and they fit snugly against the ground so the dog cant knock them over. Secondly, setting them up in the app is easy. They connect to wifi and Bluetooth. Once thats done, you can connect them to Alexa or Google. Inside the app you have control over different colors, scenes, and each light. Its very easy and very simple to use and understand. As for the weather proofing, I used an outdoor box to cover the controller, just to be safe. We have had snow, ice, rain, heavy rain and wind, and the second biblical flood. They still work. No water has leaked inside the unites. Even when water is standing on the lenses for days. If you need outdoor lighting, you cant go wrong with Govees outdoor spotlights. Read more
These lights are amazing and tough. Where these are located it has flooded at least 3 times in the last few months. I'm shocked that not only are they still functioning they work perfectly. Set the lights up the other night upon delivery as we were excited to replace our solar landscaping lights at the front of our house. A little Good and Bad. Good - Quick installation, Easy connectivity to the app, Low Profile look in the landscaping, very bright lights, and many other features that allow connectivity to your smart home. Bad - The length of the power adapter and control box is only 15ft and no extension from the control box to the first light (3 pin RGBWIC) is available. This means I had to run an outdoor extension cord to get the power source plugged into my garage GFCI allowing me to protect the product from the environment. (Govee said they don't recommend any extenders as it can cause flickering or shortening of product life). APP - its a learning curve. There are a ton of options (some what good) but can also be a bit confusing on how to utilize it correctly and efficiently. Overall, this product allows for seasonal lighting effects, comes with preloaded lighting scenes, functions reliably, and was purchased at its lowest price in 30 days which offered great value. These lights can also be used on several shades of White (warm to cool) which will make your landscaping stand out at night and potentially warn off any unwanted intruders. If I didn't have to use a outdoor extension cord to power up this product would have been given a 5 star and would have bought another set for my second landscaping area to illuminate my palm trees and garden. Due to how new the product is I have not found a compatible 3rd party vendor that makes an extension like all other Govee products. Hopefully in due time there may be enough requests or support tickets to where Govee would consider producing an extension from the control box to the first light as there is nothing better than OEM products. I was disappointed by these despite them being almost what I wanted. They had good rich color, were nicely bright, and the cabling was quality and appeared weatherproof. They joined my Home Assistant as matter devices just fine. Or I should say as "A" matter device. They are not individually controllable (the first killer problem), and they also cannot be daisy chained (or at least maybe -- I asked Govee to clarify that, and received two completely opposite answers in a row). This means if you need a dozen or so (as I did), you need to run separate AC lines to the adapter, then 4 on each adapter. That's silly, and not in keeping with the usual low voltage landscape approach. I ended up with a competitor (Lifx) instead, which are individually controllable and can be chained on a 12v (or better 15v) wire all across my home. These are just too limited. Read more
