Great value/taste but freeze your uncooked rice!
I got a bag with rice weevil eggs in it which hatched into a decent population after a couple months in storage. Apparently this is a really common problem in the industry because I've had it happen with multiple brands from multiple stores. At this point I'm pretty sure all bagged bulk rice has eggs in it, just as a matter of course, and it's not necessarily Goya's fault. But for anyone else who's grossed out by this, keep your bags in the freezer, at least for half a week if you can't do it permanently. Wikipedia claims temps below 0F/-18C for a period of 3 days kill "rice weevils in all stages of development", citing a page from Iowa State University. At least if you kill the eggs they're imperceptibly small, and not at all crawly. Since I've had it happen multiple times from multiple brands from multiple stores, I just thought I'd share that for anyone who hasn't had it happen yet. An ounce of prevention being worth a pound of cure and all that. Now that I've ruined rice for everyone, let me say that I still buy this brand almost exclusively these days because the price per pound is so good, and they even bring it TO you as opposed to having to go to a grocery store yourself. Also it complements the similarly well priced bagged dried black beans on amazon, so there's food for a week for like $15 and you don't even have to go anywhere. Read more

Love this rice. Taste good. It cooks very nicely. The ratio I use to cook this rice, is 2 to 1 - which is for 1 cup of Rice, I use 2 cups of water… the texture is soft and it smells good. My family loves it! Read more
