I’ve tried 5 or 6 types of artificial turf to use as a bathroom spot for our Corgi. I’ve learned several things by trying different turfs: - With artificial turf you get what you pay for. If the price is cheap, so is the turf - Dogs that want grass want soft turf. Soft turf is more expensive and worth the price. - The quality of the backing is very important. It needs to hold up to being washed with a hose. - Not enough holes and/or too small of holes leads to the mat retaining urine (think pee smell). This NATUREI Grass Pad for Dogs is the best one I’ve tried. The first thing I noticed is how soft and nice the turf feels. It feels great on bare feet. We have very high quality artificial turf covering part of our back yard. The NATUREI turf is softer and better than our backyard turf. The first thing the dog noticed is how soft and nice the turf feels. She immediately took a nap on this grass pad. She’s never done that before on artificial turf. This turf is easy to clean with just a little soap and water from the hose. The backing can be washed down with soap and water. That’s a good idea to wash both the front and back as it helps to cut down on the urine odor. We add holes using a drill with a fine bit. It only took a few minutes. We are using the turf on a 2nd level deck (with a drainage system underneath). The fluid needs to go through the holes and through the deck slates to the drainage system. The extra holes help. The backing is rubber and easy to drill. The turf is so thick the holes aren’t noticeable. The rubber smell of the backing disappears after a day or two outside. The odor is from the backing, not the grass. Like our last (smaller pee turf) that this new turf won’t fade or loose pieces of “grass”. It’s fireproof and it sheds water. The layering of color makes the grass look realistic. The color doesn’t fade, which keeps the mat looking nice. In my photos the NATUREI mat, which is wonderful, is the larger mat. As far as the photo with our Corgi on the new mat, she’s a big Corgi. She’s 28 lbs. and not overweight. She is large for a purebred Pembroke. The mat itself is 48” by 34”. The smaller mat is being retired after about 18 months - being outside in the elements and being available for nighttime duty calls by our dog. The new grass mat is slightly less dense than the old mat. This helps when I clean the mat by hosing it down. It is easier to get everything out of these grass fibers. Both the Corgi and I are really pleased with this NATUREI turf. It fulfills all the items I look for in a good turf pad for my dog. This is great! The size is quite large and covers a wide area. It’s not very thick but it works great for an area on my balcony. It was easy to use, just unroll and cut to size/shape. It was easy to cut through as well. It does have a slight smell but it went away after a night or two outside. Read more

As someone who goes barefoot as much as possible, I wasn't sure what to expect with this stuff. I've felt some "fake grass" things before that felt pretty stiff and uncomfortable, so I was kind of anticipating that was what this would feel like. I was actually pleasantly surprised, though! It's a LOT softer than the other ones I've felt! It doesn't exactly feel like real grass, of course, but it feels a lot better than I thought it would. I got it to put out on my balcony. I was too lazy to go outside and take measurements, but I think I ordered the largest size that was available. Unfortunately it was a bit too small to cover the full amount, but oh well, it covers the necessary parts, so that's what's important. As other reviews have mentioned, it does have a kind of weird smell to it when you first open the box. If you're planning on using this outside, then I guess that's not that big of a deal, as it'll probably wear off. If you're going to use it inside, though, I'd suggest putting it outside for a few days to air it out first.
