Pros, Cons, and why I give it five stars.

Christine Dietzโ€”April 7, 2019

Pros: I really like the "smart" aspect of this scale. I bought this one because it was one of the few that connected with MyFitnessPal which is my main weight loss app I'm using. They do have the ability to request different app intergrations, so that shows they are willing to update issues. My old analog scale was no longer reliable so this one is great. The app records you weight when you step on so it helps to keep you honest. When you step on the app shows the percentage of your goal you've met, your weight, the difference that is over the week, over the month, and over all, and your streak for weighing daily. It also sends this information to the apps you have synced it with so now more manual entry. You are able to erase a weigh in if you need to. You could also use this without the app as just a regular scale if you needed to. Cons: I assumed since there were metal plates on it that it measured BMI through bioelectronic whatnot, but after using without being barfoot I realized the metal is just a design aspect and that it measures BMI based off weight and height, like most apps. You have to have the app open when you step on to record the weight. It also takes a second to actually send the weight to your phone so sometimes you are standing there waiting on it, or you have to step off and on again. It also is hard to have multiple users of the app on one scale. If you are weighing yourself and someone else connected to your scale happens to have their app open it'll record your weight to their profile. They could just delete it if this happens, so it's not that bad. Ultimately I've given it five stars because it does what I needed it to, and it does what it said it would do, and I am very happy with it. Any expectation it didn't meet was not something I personally cared for. It is a quality scale that accurately records my weight, calculates additional metrics, and shares it with my apps. It helps me follow my goal and is easy to use. Read more

A scale that even giants would love.

Dennis G -- Michiganโ€”December 10, 2016

I was slightly worried purchasing this scale -- some reviews were great, others complained of difficult to set up wifi connections. This was also my first attempt at a digital scale after leaving the world of crappy electronic scales for a good five years or more. We actually purchased a mechanical beam scale like those found in gyms or doctor's offices. Well, we moved houses and the beast of a scale wouldn't fit in the new place. So the search began... I was very worried about getting an electronic scale that had one of two common issues: the ability to make it say pretty much whatever you want by standing just so, and the scale that just gives you the previous reading unless there's been a significant change, both drive me nuts. I am pleased to say that I have found this scale easy to setup, very accurate, and responds to small weight changes. As a bonus I no longer have to manually input my weight into my phone each day, which is nicer than I expected. I am connecting to an Apple AirPort Extreme router if anyone is wondering. It automatically found the band that it needed to connect to. It took my three attempts to get through the process, not that it was difficult to work with, it was more me learning how to do it. It's pretty simple, but I can screw even simple things up. I've had it for a week now, and every day it has sent my weight to my app, so I'm a happy camper. My router is located in the basement and my master bathroom is located on the second floor, probably a worst case scenario... it connects just fine. The scale is much larger than other similar scales I've encountered in stores, which is a benefit to me, there's not much worse than trying to get big feet in a small scale... all of the extra data I ignore, it cycles through your water weight and bone mass, blah, blah, blah, but I'm not especially interested in that. Very nice household grade bathroom scale

DJ Nybergโ€”March 29, 2019

This scale is very nicely styled as you can see from photos, slim, easy to set up and use, easy to clean. No problem at all pairing it with my android phone (and I don't use bluetooth much, so a beginner should have no problem). Even comes with batteries, so just pull the tab and you're in business. I had a minor problem with one, and customer service was first rate. I gave it only 4 because its accuracy is exactly what it's supposed to be: household grade. There's a difference between precision and accuracy, even though many people use the words interchangeably. If you're weighing something that's exactly 100 pounds, and you say it's 90.345 pounds, you have been very precise (5 digits)... but not terribly accurate. If you say it's 100 pounds, you're accurate, but not very precise at only 3 digits of precision. Make sense? Well now that we have digital displays vs the old moving needle designs, we can easily display more precision than we should. Consider that when this scale weighs a person over 100 pounds, and shows a 0.1 least significant digit, it's displaying 4 digits of precision. No household scale I've ever heard of has much more than maybe 2.5 digits of real accuracy, however many digits get displayed. This one can vary 3 pounds plus or minus as I shift my weight, which works out to a smidge better than 1%, even as I try hard to stand still, which may be a bit disappointing until you think about how many digits are being displayed. Then the scale watches the range as the display wobbles up and down for a few seconds, and chooses a middle reading to freeze and display. I expect the true accuracy is about +/- 1-2 pounds, which is actually quite good for a household unit. So its true performance is about the same as the best spring and needle type scales of yesteryear, but packaged in nice modern enclosure with electronic innards and display. So if you need extreme accuracy, you'll need to use one of those slide-the-weight balance beam scales. If you want an attractive, easy to use, compact and generally very nice household scale (and understand that household units in this price range are not laboratory equipment), you'll love this scale.
