Greendale Home Fashions Outdoor 17-inch Square Decorative Throw Pillow 2-Pack Adobe Stripe

I had a 42” loveseat and couldn’t find the right size so decided to get 2 sets of the individual dining chair cushions and fill the side gaps with lumbar pillows. I added the square throw pillows for back or neck support and since I wanted everything to look intentional, kept everything the same print to give it an upholstered look. I wanted a pop of color that was NOT red (front door is Benjamin Moore’s “Viking Yellow”) so opted for the “Watermelon Stripe”. This is kept on a covered porch on a north facing side so don’t know how it would stand up to sun fade or weather but this is a tight weave, heavy polyester that is firmly stuffed. I hate fluffy pillows and cushions that look good but flatten the moment you sit or put any weight on it. These do NOT do that at all. Perhaps after a few seasons I’ll get tired of the colors or print but otherwise I think this is a great deal for a high quality item. Greendale Home Fashions has changed their colorway names and I see listings for both versions online. Exact same prints and colors but with all new names, so the “Coral Stripe” listed here on Amazon is the old name (Coral —> Watermelon Stripe). I ordered from Amazon and the cushions came direct from the Greendale with a style sticker on top of the old name labeled as “Watermelon Stripe”. For anyone looking for a solid throw pillow to use with their Coral —> Watermelon Stripe cushion or to use the striped as an accent for one of the solids. Keep in mind that everybody is different and color is subjective but I see the following when I look in daylight (new names taken from HD’s site since they use the same exact manufacturer stock photos): Fire —> Salsa (Red) Dusk Pink —> Coral Cement —> Heather Grey Lime —> Kiwi (Olive Green) Sunrise —> Rust (Orange) Arctic —> Sea Glass (Bright Blue) White (Not available from Greendale) Color that I see from a distance due to optical illusion with stripes but color is not actually there: Sunburst —> Sunbeam (Yellow) (I think this is due to the yellow undertones in the green when paired with the coral or orange). I was excited to find these pillows available again because other retailers were sold out of this color and design. I had bought the bench cushion last year from a large home improvement store and wanted to get the pillows as well. I actually ordered two sets (four pillows). However, for the price, I have to say I am disappointed. First of all, they were shipped inside a cardboard box with no protective wrapping around the pillows! The boxes looked like they had been kicked around and one box was torn, exposing the fabric inside. Fortunately, I was careful not to use a box cutter or scissors, because the pillows were stuffed into the box and surely would have been cut. Some of the corners of the pillows are not pushed out to a point all the way and lack stuffing There is no zipper to open to help the pillow to dry out should it get wet. Other less expensive pillows I own have a zipper for that purpose. It's a shame they put the label on a different side than where the pillow opening was stitched. The tag does not rip off cleanly. If you cut it, there's always a tiny bit of white remaining. So there are two out of the four sides that are not perfect. Am I being too picky for the price point? Where the opening was stitched closed, it is uneven and puckered with untrimmed pieces of fishing line thread. On a positive note, I do love the fabric and color. They really jazz up my blah deck furniture. They are very fully stuffed and comfy to lean against. Read more
