Having never used an ear cleaner before I don't really have a comparison but I found this to be somewhat messy. It does leak when you use it so I now only use it in the shower, it does seem to help but not sure how much better it is than just using the power from my shower head. It runs out of water quickly so I have to refill it when in the shower. I'm still really on the fence so probably wouldn't go out and buy it again but I will continue to use it while I have it. this ear flusher tool works as i expected, but just less powerful than i was worried about. the water tank is small, but it is easily enough to get a quick flush through with a properly sealed connection between the tool and ear. The pressure level isnt bad either. There are 3 levels, and being battery powered its also convenient to not have to deal with wires. i use a cotton swab afterwards to dry around the outer canal and my ear feels refreshed. Read more

Overall, this is a credible, effective ear canal irrigation device. It is a clever design, with the cup enveloping most of the ear. Instead of using a ear bowl/basin to catch the water escaping from the ear, this device has a system to direct the water into a secondary reservoir. It works fairly well, except I found that water still dribbles out. Fortunately, the device is IPX5. Not totally waterproof, but water resistant enough to be used in the shower. It's probably the ideal place to perform the ear canal irrigation, mitigating any watery messes. (You could just stand in the bathtub, too. Bending over a sink/basin or tub is possible; However, I find using these type of devices easier to manipulate when upright.) As with most of the devices in the product genre, it has an internal rechargeable battery. It charged up to full quickly, using the usb-c connection. It has a stated claim of 3 hours operation per full charge. We haven't used it enough to assess this aspect. But, it worked fine for 2 treatment sessions. The ear-rigation (pun, sorry) device performs within expectations. I was hoping that it would avoid leaks. It did an admirable job, but not totally. It's easy to handle and operate. I rate this device 4.25 - 4.5 stars with a favorable recommendation. Read more

Even at its most powerful, this thing has the strength of a baby gently papping your face. And that's when it works. The tube struggles to pull up water, even when filled, so that you get a light shot and then it gurgles for a few seconds then a light shot. The baby gently papping also doesn't clean much at all - I used this and then my other ear cleaner, and all the gross dry clods came out with my normal cleaner that in no way were even touched by this. And then there are GURGLES. Sounds like someone coughing and choking on your ear, gagging and gargling. It's extremely unpleasant, and that's the only noise it makes, any time it's on. It's so loud and unsettling to listen to that my roommate - who can sleep through me using the blender 10 feet from him - came in and was like "what IS that???" There are way better ear cleaners out there. Get those. This isn't worth it in any sense of the word unless you want something to fit over your ear, but even then...meh. Read more

This powered ear cleaner is a good idea, but this model is pretty much useless as it has such low power that it barely gets to the depth of the ear canal that needs the most cleaning. The rubber applicator is just too small and the full tank empties in about 20 seconds. The ear cover also fills with water so you get drenched when you remove it. If you have ever had your ears professionally cleaned, well, this is nothing like that. This is a waste of time and for about $100 it should be avoided. My model is already in the garbage! Read more

I like the size for the ease of use, especially by my 9 year old son. The ability to use in the shower is also helpful as no matter how well you get a face seal there always seems to be some water leakage from these type of devices. The water tank is small which helps with the ability to hold it but unfortunately it needs to be refilled quickly. If you are using in the shower this is easy to accomplish. Traditionally we've used larger plug in varieties so this is a nice addition. Being battery operated I think contributes to the less than powerful water stream. While this effects it's usefulness a little bit we've found that if you do some minor prep work it is efficient. We sometimes do this prep work with others as well so not a big deal. Showering first before use helps soften ear wax and makes it easier to remove. While this isn't the most powerful ear cleaner it is the most convenient and does what it needs to do. Read more

This ear wash device from Griffin is an all in one unit that has a water reservoir (that should be filled with warm water ) and a tank for the water draining back out of the ear. The idea is to allow the water to gently pulse or wash into my ear canal and then I tip my head. Tilting my head, allows the water to drain back out into the ear cup and into the used water tank. Being new to the process, I ended up with a bit of water on the floor. The first time it was more water than just a bit. A couple towels on the floor was all that I needed. The towels accompanied by standing in front of the mirror, I found it easy to operate. Somehow standing in front of the mirror makes me more comfortable with the whole process. After a bit of practice I might move to the shower to save washing a couple extra towels. I am finding it easy and comfortable to use this ear wash device. The price at the time of this review is $99. In my opinion this is on the high end compared to other ear wash devices on Amazon. I recommend this to someone who wants an all in one device. It will also be a good option for someone who is more comfortable purchasing a brand they recognize. Read more
