I purchased this after talking to a friend. It's the next step down from his, but the quality of this rain jacket is by far the best I've ever seen. It's already seen two rains and the only wet I got was from sweat (no rain jacket or poncho will keep you dry from perspiration). This jacket is also one of the few I've found that has HUGE pockets built into it. What gets put into the internal pockets stays absolutely dry unless the aforementioned sweat gets to it. It also has two outer pockets that are zippered which are relatively large as well. I haven't used them during a storm yet, but I've always been skeptical of zippered pockets on rain jackets as water will eventually defeat the zipper. As to size, it fits well but I've always ordered a size larger in clothing of this manner. In this case, it's for putting things in pockets or carrying small fanny pack or small courier bag underneath the jacket. The length of this jacket is great even while bicycling. I had no problems with a wet back side while riding my bicycle in a light shower yesterday. It was actually great in that aspect. Not only was this a cheaper jacket than a bicycle specific clothing (I paid less and got better rain resistance than a bicycling jacket said to be waterproof) but in my honest opinion, it will last longer. Another unique feature of this jacket is how fast it dries after use. Even in humid sticky South Carolina, it dries within 10 minutes or sometimes less depending on location. Longer in a more humid environment. When this one wears out, I'll definitely purchase another. I recommend this product strongly if you like to be outdoors even on a rainy day. Read more

Excellent jacket. Very durable and 100% waterPROOF not water resitant. It fits well over a sweater or fleece jacket. The sizing for it to be a top layer I think but that’s good. I use it for maintenance work and fishing and it’s held up well for both applications. If I lost it I would definitely buy another. Read more

I specialize in exterior building cleaning, which means I’m constantly exposed to wind, rain, and spray. This Grundens Men’s Neptune jacket has proven itself day after day. The material breathes surprisingly well while keeping me completely dry through long shifts in unpredictable weather. The design feels durable without being stiff or heavy, and the seams and zippers show real quality. One of my favorite features is the high-visibility color — it stands out clearly in low light or on overcast days, which is a major safety bonus in my line of work. After weeks of use, it still looks new, hasn’t absorbed odors, and dries quickly between jobs. Overall, 10/10 — reliable gear that truly performs as advertised. Highly recommend to anyone working outdoors or around water. Read more

Nice quality. Better than my cheap set from the hardware store. Recommend buying a size larger so you can bundle up under it. They fit kinda slim. Read more

Have you ever wanted the waterproofness of a plastic bag but needed to look good doing it? This is the jacket for you. This jacket is not goretex or water resistant.. It is completely waterproof. It does have a liner so it doesn't stick to you and the design is cut to be roomy without looking or feeling baggy. Lightweight, and it has all the options you would expect from a more expensive coat. Interior pockets, outer pocket zippers, and hidden cinch cords keep you dry and out of the weather. It is as comfortable and stylish on the town sit is on a fishing trawler. Just buy it. Read more

I bought this rainjacket to use as a fishing guide on the Pacific coast of Colombia. It worked well in heavy tropical rain. Stayed dry after 4 hours of heavy downpour. I read in the reviews that you need to order a size larger than normal but it's not true, unless you are BIG SIZE alrerady. I ordered a large when a medium would have been perfect. Do your measurements and order what the size guide says. Read more

This jacket, with the matching pants, has made me so happy! It’s perfect for walking my dog twice daily on the rainiest stretch of beach in the country. Even after heavy rain, when I get home, I can go about my day in the same dry clothes I was wearing underneath. It makes it far less intimidating and complicated to walk my dog when it’s warm inside and stormy out. This is EXACTLY what I wanted. It’s waterproof, NOT “waterproof” + breathable, as are many alternatives, and which, in my experience, are not as truly water proof except for in ideal conditions. A less-noted downside of those alternatives is that they are not particularly durable. The waterproof lamination wears off too quickly and the “durable” water repellent (DWR) coating fails if it’s dirty, and eventually wears off (although it can be reapplied at some expense and effort). This jacket, in contrast, is less fussy. Put it on and stay dry. The material is waterproof PU (polyurethane) over polyester. It feels like very supple rubber boots, if you can imagine them being much thinner and with 4-way stretch. This general type of rain gear has kept me dry for years longer than “waterproof”+breathable, and this particular model seems more durable than most (time will tell). One more huge plus: many other truly waterproof (non-breathable) jackets are made of PVC, which usually contains phthalates, a toxic and endocrine-disrupting chemical that leaches out, can be absorbed through skin. While of concerns for everyone for multiple reasons, it is particularly concerning for families that may get pregnant and developing children. Google it. As long as there’s doubt here (and there is a lot), I think that chemical is best avoided. Some PVC jackets may not contain it, but unless it specifically says so, you should assume it does. And if it says “pthalate-free,” it begs the questions about the safety of whatever other plasticizer they are using. This jacket has no such concerns. I know of no other similarly robust, PVC-free, rain gear. It’s got plenty of thoughtful features, like pockets, draw strings, a brimmed hood, snaps vs velcro in the right places, and a flattering cut. I really dig this jacket. Read more
