I didn’t need to replace a zipper. My gown was backless to the waist and no amount of altering and fitting or taping would keep the straps from slipping while dancing. I hand stitched these strips inside the edges of the gown back below my shoulder blades so the loops only showed. I laced it with a satin elastic instead of the included strapping. This allowed the gown to be tight enough to keep the straps in place while still allowing me to move and breath comfortably as I danced. Looks beautiful too. i don’t think i’ve ever written a review for amazon but i just had to for this. if you need to switch a zipper for a corset back, DEFINITELY purchase this one. it didn’t have the amount of reviews that others did (one reason i’m writing a review right now) but i'm glad i chose this one over the ones that have been purchased and reviewed more. i went into this with the sewing knowledge i received in my 8th grade home economics class, which was some time ago lol, but my goodness i am so unbelievably pleased! this was so easy to sew into my dress and even though the material is different than the dress, you can’t really tell when it is on. with everything, it took me four hours to remove the zipper and get the corset installed. This was exactly what I needed. I found the perfect sequin tank top for a dance performance, but it wouldn’t zip up in back. So I found this kit and bought it. It was perfect. I cut the zipper out, seamed each of the corset pieces to the sides and laced it up. Now the top fits perfectly and looks even cooler than before! The amount of material you get with the loops is great to help make sewing easy. The loops are a good size and the laces go through them easily. I could not be more pleased with the result and based on how easily this works, I will be doing this again with more tops or dresses in the future. Read more
