HAFLINGER Coffee Unisex Wool Slippers

Cute, warm, wooly and cozy. I wear a 6.5 B shoe size, bought size 36, and it fit perfectly on me. My feet, standing on a straight-edge ruler, are 9" long and my feet fit right inside the raised back edge of the slippers. They are plenty wide for me and the arch hits in the right spot. They are house slippers so I will not be wearing out of the house; they should last a few years. They are very well-made. Initially, not sure which size to get, I went down rather than up. I prefer a neat, rather than sloppy fit. Sizing depends on the length, shape and width of your feet so that should be taken in consideration. If your feet are wide or you have a high instep, then the next size would be best. (A little bit of knowledge as I worked in shoe sales.) Two months later: Toasty toes, holding up well. Eased up a bit in width, but not a problem. Not sure what people are doing to them if falling apart in a matter of weeks. Year and a half later, they’re all stretched out in daily wear. I like Haflinger slippers because they have a little arch support inside, although it's not the extra-good arch and metatarsal support I became accustomed to from wearing handmade Steigmann and Giesswein slippers from Austria, but in both those brands they have lowered the support for arches (WHY?!) so now the German Haflinger brand is the same good but a bit too low arch support as all the other slipper brands I've found from Europe. (I have extremely high arches, so if yours are not, you won't notice anything I'm talking about when you wear the slippers; for you they will be perfect! :) Haflingers are most definitely eons better than any slippers Americans have ever come up with! These slippers help care for the bone structure of feet and allow for natural movement while keeps bones relatively neutral. They are 100% wool, even the soles (but with rubber dots added to the soles for grip) so they breathe naturally while keeping feet from overheating yet warm and cozy to increase blood flow. If you want to wear thick socks with them in winter, I would go up a size. They do stretch a bit as all wool does, but then shrinks up a bit if you wash them. I wear a men's 8, women's 10, and European 41 which is a perfect fit for me in all European brands (because their sizing is very exact unlike American sizes). Europeans do not distinguish between male and females sizes; they are the same for both, and these slippers are made for both women and men; there is no difference in the slippers. I have wide feet, between 'H' and 'K' width, or even an 'I' in European winter boots, and these slippers are just fine in the width because they do stretch and conform to your feet. these slippers are an 'H' width out of the box... that's one width wider than 'G' the normal 'medium' most common width, though they don't discuss width, they are definitely 'H' width; I've had four pairs of these style of Haflingers so far, along with three pairs of their clogs which run one width size more narrow: Haflinger clogs are a 'G' width 'medium' out of the box, but slippers are an 'H' width. Best slippers I have ever bought. Yes, basically an "investment" considering the price. But, after having these little gems on my Wish List for months, I finally gave in and bought them. I couldn't be happier with my decision. I have arthritis in my feet and I needed a slipper in the summer to wear as well as in the winter. I know what you're thinking..."who would wear wool slippers in the summer?" I do. We have air conditioning and the floors get cool. Seems walking around in socks just doesn't cut it anymore. Summer also has some chilly and damp days...those of us with arthritis know what I'm talking about. These slippers are light in weight, but weigh in heavy on the comfort scale. Besides, they make me happy when I look at them because coffee is my jam. ha ha That being said...comfort, warmth and fun...who could ask for more? After wearing the slippers for a while...still love them, they hold up great. The only problem I'm having with them is the bottoms have become VERY smooth. I only wear them in the house and we do have tile floors. I have had several instances where I've almost fallen because the bottoms are so smooth and when I walk on the tile floors it's so slippery. I'm not sure why they have gotten like this, since I only wear them in the house. So, just a head's up. If all you have is wall-to-wall carpeting in your home, they are perfect. Love them but pricey …I always end up packing my great toe through the wool each year so wish they would work to find a resolution for that. But, I still buy because very comfortable, true to size ( when they ship the right size ordered!) and fun fun patterns Read more

These slippers are the best! With my issues (plantar fasciitis, high arches, knee & hip pain), I've been wearing my outside supportive Haflingers in the house but they don't look too cozy with my pj's & riding the couch. I had my doubts after inspecting the arches in these as they don't seem particularly high but decided to give them a try. They are perfect; I don't know how they can be so comfy & flexible & still give support. If I'm inside doing household chores all day, I can wear these & have no pain at night. I do have to remember not to run outside to the mailbox in them as I do want to preserve the wool soles as long as possible. However, I do like how quiet they are inside (we have a lot of tile); I've startled my husband more than once. I've found the wool to be a bit scratchy on the tops of my foot but I always wear Smartwool socks so it isn't an issue. Read more
