I'm a big guy, 42/44 waist. It's difficult to find a pair of pants that give me room to move around without feeling like I'm going to split my seat if I squat down to tie my shoelaces. Several years ago, the trend seemed to be moving towards "relaxed" fit, and it was nice... plenty of room in the seat and thighs, but not so much as to make it look like a clown suit. Now, with all the straight-leg and skinny-fit pants, I was ready to switch to wearing a kilt but I could never figure out what I was supposed to wear underneath. I digress. These pants fit me great. Not only is the fit great, but I really like the fabric - they are indeed "cool" pants. Given my bulk, one would assume that I would be a big fan of adjustable waistbands. To be honest, I really don't care for them... they can be bulky and more often than not I find that they encourage my pants to fall down (even with a belt!). These slacks do have an adjustable waistband, but it's not as bad as other pants that I've owned. In my perfect world, they would make a version of these exact pants with a fixed (?) waistband, but they don't and the positives of these pants far outweigh the not-so-bad-but-still-adjustable waistband. I've had one pair of these pants for several months and it has held up well in the wash and so far hasn't needed ironing. I would say that these pants very appropriate for a business-casual work environment (w/ shirt & tie, or button down, or polo shirt). I don't know if I'd wear them out to the bar on a Friday night the same way I would a pair of 100% cotton khakis, but that's just me. These pants are perfect for warm weather. The fit perfect with the expanding waste line which helps as my weight fluctuates. I wash them in cold water and use the dryer. These were purchased for my husband before we made the shift to more natural, organic materials in our wardrobe. The fit was great. Comfortable waistband, flexible movement, and a professional look that didn’t feel stiff or restrictive. However, it’s worth noting that these are made of 100% polyester. If you’re trying to remove synthetics from your daily wear, these won’t align with that direction. They do wick moisture well and resist wrinkles, but they’re not breathable in the way natural fibers are. They served their purpose well, and the comfort level was still notable. They don't make them like they used to...Where is the quality control? I know these are like not being made anymore but compare to ones I have had for years or so, the material is lighter and I swear they do not measure them. these are 40 waist 30 length and I am basically stepping on them! I have a 38x32 pair (From Kohls) and when next to each other, they are the same length! Also these ones feel like I am wearing bell bottoms and are a tad wider than ones I have gotten in the past. I didn't know when I bought these that the "cool" part of the title was due to the fact that they're lightweight and keep your legs cool. But that's exactly what they do. These are great looking khakis that are very upscale looking. They're also incredibly comfortable and don't wrinkle up (I sit in an office for most of the day, which causes low end khakis to wrinkle right up). I also love the elasticity in the waste band. Not only does this make them really comfortable, but it provides some room to "grow" or "shrink" while still maintaining a well fitting pair of pants. I had bought some Dockers D4 khakis which I also loved, but they didn't have any other colors in my size. After a week or so I decided to give these a try based on the reviews (and availability of colors in my size), and I'm so happy I did. I love the Dockers, but I love these even more. They just look nicer and are more comfortable. And I also LOVE that they keep your legs cool. I live in south Florida where this is a huge plus.
