Honestly, this product really does work and is very discrete. I’ve tried powder fibers and they irritate my scalp and they come off with touching / run when wet. This product can’t be applied when wet and stays put even when touched. It also doesn’t smear. It does matify your hair so if you like that sleek gel styles it might not be as discrete due to the matifying effect. It also washes off my scalp easy, without the irritation on my skin. Read more

I've been using various spray root touch-up products for years but was unable to match my roots well. (They tend to go on darker than the name implies, but anything lighter than "dark blonde" didn't cover up grays.) I also wasn't thrilled with the way the spray-ons sort of settled on my scalp and didn't feel natural. I tried this product and am pleased with the results. The first one I ordered was still a little too dark (but better than the spray-on's), and then I went to the reddish color, which actually mixes well with a dark blonde or light brown shade to cover my completely gray roots. I can now get the 4 weeks between touch-ups without having to put on too much product. I've had no trouble with the messy powder application that was noted by some reviewers. I needed far less loose powder than some reviews imply--just a quick brush of the powder container for each spot I want to touch up is doing the trick for me. Will continue buying this one... I have ash blonde hair which I color red/auburn. My roots grow out quickly. I have tried the spray on touch up but it was too red. I have tried other powders and hated the results. But, thought I would give this a try as the price was right. Turned out better than I expected. I like the packaging with the applicator on the bottom. I was able to blend this really well. And after my last color disaster with my hairdresser - my roots turned bright pink/red - I was able to use this to blend it out. I sometimes blot, I sometimes swirl. I blend in layers until desired darkness. Remember to blend into your existing hair or it looks like a landing strip in natural light. Your bathroom will lie to you trust me. I've used sticks and fibers and sprays. Sometimes i use it in conjunction of one of those. Once in it is waterproof, do not rub it though. Comes off with soap. Stays put when on. Even through a brushing session. Pad is re rinsable...a little soap and light massaging with your fingers will break it up. Dawn works great. Read more
