I love this little coffee pot but... count on a years worth before having to buy another. Let's be completely honest, for a programmable coffee pot, that brews just enough, this little pot is amazing. Geez I sound like an infomercial... Coupled with a Mr. Coffee removable ground holder, there's nothing more you can ask for. Its one of the smallest coffee machines on the market, taking up very little counter space. In comparison, its about the size of a toaster only vertical. Lightweight and easy to pack up in a camper, hotel room, tent with alternative power, etc. Both the water intake and grounds go in from the front, both very accessible. No little triangle hole to hit at the back of the maker itself. No moving it around to find a button or flip a lid up, or pulling it out to see what youre doing. I brew 3 cups every morning. Fresh, aromatic,...the best part of waking up...right, moving on...I have coffee waiting for me every morning, each pot just as good as the next. But with all good things comes an end. The programming usually goes about the 7th month mark...by the 8th month, the thing perculates like its taking it last dying breath. Put 3 cups in, get 2 cups back. Ive tried cleaning, running vinegar thru it, nothing helps what Im assuming is evaporation...maybe?. Granted Im not as crafty as my father, who would of had the entire thing in pieces on display on the kitchen table, meticulously cleaning each part before reassembly. But I digress, when it gets to that point, plan to spend another $30, dont forget the removable basket and no, dont bother hoarding the glass carafe just in case it breaks...well, ok, maybe if your susceptible to dropping things. If I had 1 thing to gripe about, its the pour lip of the carafe. Pour too fast and it spills all over the place, which seems to be an issue I personally have with many different style pots. This is a really nice coffee maker. It works great and brews quickly for a one- or two-person household. It is easy to clean out and can also take either paper filters or use the included mesh filter. The coffee does not taste too light or too dark and temperature is good. Have not used the program feature but it is a nice option. Read more
I love my little coffee maker. It brews really fast and makes great coffee. It's just the right size and fits perfectly in my cabinet when not in use. I love that it is programmable and has an automatic shut off feature. Easy to use too. It doesn't require a PhD to figure out how to operate it. Read more
This is a decent little coffee maker. Coffee quality is going to be as good as the ground beans you use. I bought this to replace the Mr. Coffee mini pot I had for years - but the design was changed so I wanted to look for something else. I came across this maker and it seemed to be a good deal. It was right in the price range I was looking for. I don't really like that the grounds compartment swings out to the left side. The only place I can keep this on my counter is next to a wall (on the left) so I have to bring it out away from the wall every morning so I can fill the filter. I do like that it takes paper filters. We have a septic and I don't want to have to worry about the grounds going down the drain. The paper filters, with used grounds, go right into the compost. So that's a plus. Also the only place you can see how full the water is, is on the right side. Not terrible but I wish it was a little easier to read. I do like that the water is top loading and easy to add. You do have to add it slowly though so it has time to funnel down in to the base. It is fast! It brews coffee faster than my Mr. Coffee machine. That was a pleasant surprise. My biggest beef with this however is that EVERY single morning when I pour my coffee into my mug, it drips on the counter. Every. Single. Time. I have tried pouring slowly. I have tried pouring quickly. Every time I end up with coffee on my counter that I have to wipe up. It is very annoying. I am not sure if it is the lid or the shape of the pot but I cannot seem to pour it without making a mess. UPDATE on pouring... OK so after a couple weeks of pouring coffee and dripping all over the counter, I have learned that if you use your thumb to lift up the lid just an inch or so before you pour, it doesn't spill everywhere. Annoying but hey, I'm not wiping the same spot of the counter every time I pour a cup. Sometimes, on the second pour, condensation will drip off the lid when you lift it to pour - so just lift it and let it fall down to knock off the extra water then pour as described and you should be good!!
