No extra weight or bulk, but plenty of style
The design of this could not be simpler, except if it was made from a single piece of leather. But that would add thickness, and you wouldn't get the two-tone effect (dark blue and brown, for the one I got), which is quite nice.. Apart from sheer quality of materials and construction -- which are considerable -- where this differs from other minimalist wallets in that the slot for currency isn't a compromise. You can actually put a bunch of currency in it, not just a few bills folded perfectly. That means I can get rid of my money clip. It's supposed to be hand-made. I believe that partly because the logo is stamped into the leather with ever so slight a tilt. It makes me wonder if they did that on purpose, just to remind you that this was put together by a person rather than a machine. I have only carried it a little while, so the leather hasn't had a chance to develop any character. But the color of the lining isn't rubbing off on the cards that I carry in it. That's a good sign. It also just feels good to be touching it, which is something that is true about high-quality leather. That's also a good sign. The things I need to have with me are: My driver's license, a credit card, some cash, and a couple of other cards, for roadside assistance and medical emergencies. The first two go in the front pocket, the other two go in the middle, and the cash goes in the currency slot. There is no extra weight or bulk. But there is plenty of style.
