Fabric stretches so it's not uncomfortable bending over, running, etc. Perfect for lounging or being active. I choose these because I was looking for 100% cotton shorts. Hard to find. I like that they are soft and comfortable with larger pocket opening. The draw string is big enough and not thin string. The only problem I have with these shorts is the waistband is poor quality. It needs to be thicker and stiffer in a way. As is the waistband rolls over to easy. I have other 100% cotton that the waistband never rolls over and because of that fit much better to me. Any activity in these shorts have to stop and unroll the top ugh.
