I’ve tried a few cotton underwear brands, and these Hanes Originals boxer briefs are a dependable everyday option. Here’s my take after a few weeks of regular wear and wash cycles. Comfort and Fit Fabric:** 90–95% cotton with a touch of elastane/spandex for stretch. The material feels soft against the skin and breathes well, which helps avoid that suffocating feeling on hot days. Elastic & Waistband:** The waistband sits comfortably at the natural hip line without digging in. It maintains shape after several washes, which is a plus compared to some cheaper cotton blends. Rise & Coverage:** The mid-thigh rise offers modest coverage without feeling bulky. They stay in place during daily activities, workouts, and quick stretches. Style and Practicality Design:** Classic, no-frills styling that works well under jeans, skirts, or dresses. The boxer brief cut provides a little more coverage than regular briefs without feeling like bloomers. 4-Pack Value:** The 4-pack is convenient for rotation and helps keep laundry cycles simple. Inexpensive enough to replace slightly worn pairs without guilt. Colorway:** Basic, versatile colors that pair with most outfits. If you’re after bright or patterned options, you might want to look elsewhere. Durability and Care Washability:** They hold up well in standard machine washes and tumble dry cycles. The fabric doesn’t pill noticeably, and the waistband maintains elasticity after multiple washes. Pilling:** Minimal pilling for the first several months. If you’re tough on underwear or frequently wash on high heat, you may notice some wear sooner than later. Comfort in Different Scenarios Everyday Wear:** Great for day-to-day comfort and all-day wear. The breathable cotton keeps you cooler in warmer weather. Active L activities:** Suitable for light workouts or active days, though for intense workouts you might prefer moisture-wicking blends. Under Tight Clothing:** The smooth fabric and mid-thigh length work nicely under leggings or fitted outfits without visible lines. Pros Soft, breathable cotton blend Comfortable waistband that doesn’t roll or dig True mid-thigh coverage Good value with a 4-pack Durable after multiple washes Cons Not moisture-wicking like athletic-oriented underwear (if you need to stay dry during intense workouts) Some people prefer a higher or lower rise depending on body type Colors are basic; if you want prints or bolder colors, options are limited Who I’d Recommend These For Anyone seeking affordable, comfortable everyday underwear with a classic mid-thigh boxer brief silhouette. People who prioritize cotton and breathability over high-tech moisture-wicking fabrics. Those who like a simple, versatile pack suitable for mixed wardrobes. If you’re deciding between Hanes Originals and something with more performance features, these are a solid everyday staple. They won’t wow you with luxury, but they deliver reliable comfort and durability at a sensible price. Read more

I have a latex allergy but it mostly just raises it's ugly head with a "sunburn" and (if I'm unlucky) blisters. I have spent years just buying undergarments that the elastic is wrapped in cotton but as I get older, I'm more sensitive, and even putting them in the dryer a few times breaks down the elastic enough that it blends allergens through the cotton and we all know that the closer to the girl bits it is, the more sensitive we are. These have no elastic in the groin or even in the legs. Yes, it's a spandex mix (I think?) for the bulk of the fabric but there is no rubbing/tight area. Fully cotton where the girl bits might complain. Fully covers the butt. I've tried "boy briefs" many times before and they just ride up until they may as well be thongs. These are practical and fit well even at (2x) and I don't feel like I need to keep adjusting myself. The only downside is that they do require some shifting, pushing, pulling, etc when you pull up tight-fitting pants over them so they are less visible but hey... If you worry about that, buy a thong. Durable, comfortable, latex-allergy-friendly. Menopause friendly. Plus-sized friendly. Cute enough even if you're 20 yo and a size 3 😂 Read more

I love wearing these comfortable underwear. I am allergic to elastic and have difficulty with regular undies. These are very comfortable with no elastic irritating my skin. They are very soft and have pretty colors. Order your normal size. You'll find a good price here for them. Thank you Amazon 😊 Read more

I got these to minimize pressure on an incision on my hip/thigh. They accomplish that goal. However, I got the Fashion Color Mix and the colors aren’t as pictured. The photo shows vibrant pink, vibrant blue, black, and grey. Instead I received white, charcoal grey, light grey, pale pink. Not critical but it’s annoying to get different colors than expected. The fit is fine - as expected using the size chart. The sewing is also ok especially given the price I paid (they were heavily discounted when I got them). The fabric is nowhere near as soft as other similar underwear. Not the most comfortable but they are wearable. Read more

I just had a surgical procedure on my hip. I could not tolerate my regular underwear due to pain. These are amazingly comfortable! Stretchy and soft with no pressure over my sensitive incision site. So nice! I love these! Thank you Hanes! I may never go back to regular cut underwear! The size is accurate and it’s quality material! Read more

Bought two sets one of the black coral white and grey. The waist band is comfortable and I live that they are truly cotton. There has been some brands that claim to be cotton but they are spandex and the only cotton part is the crotch liner. I don’t like that. I bought an xl which is my size but I like my underwear to be more loose so the second set I ordered a xxl. I wear both but both are great. The colors I don’t mind but I do wish that there is a pack that is just all white or neutral colors. After they wash they still fit the same so I haven’t seen a shrinkage. I can move and exercise in them with out feeling uncomfortable. They can be washed in machine or hand depends on the person. Read more
