These serve a great dual purpose for me. They keep my Airpod Max safe and secure on my desk, easily accessible, and two it keeps them always fully charged. The stand itself is made out of matching space gray aluminum with chrome chamfered edges. It looks nice sitting on my desk because it matches the design of the Airpods as well as my other Apple gear. In the box it included both a USB-C and Lighting magnetic charging adapter so regardless of which version of Airpod Max you have - you are covered. In my case I used the USB-C adapter and it worked perfect. It does create a small numb on the bottom of the Airpods where the USB-C port is but its light, not very big, and doesn't effect any functionality. It is literally out of sight, out of mind. When placing the Airpods into the stand the magnet grabs it and guides it perfectly (with a slight click) so that it begins charging. The light on the top turns red when charging and then back to white when done. Half the time when I take it off the stand I have to unplug the magnetic attachment. Plug a regular wire in. And unplug it in order for them to play audio. Idk if it’s a glitch in the software or what. And it might just be mine. But it does charge and hold the headphones great aside from that little bug. Excellent charger for the Apple AirPods Max, so easy to use with two functions. Firstly, charging is easy, insert the magnetic button, put in charger, job done. This is on my bedside table and it is easy to drop into the unit. The magnetic button guides it neatly into position, even does it easily in the dark and all you can see is the LED light for guidance. Secondly, a safe and convenient place to store them. Had to write a review after watching the ham-fisted video of one user trying to use it. Have no idea what they were doing with it sliding all over the place. After I took the protective plastic sheet off and put it on the surface, it stayed, stuck nice and solid. Can recommend it as a good option to charge the AirPods Max. DO NOT BUY!!!! I bought this in July and at first I loved it. It charges quickly, looks sleek, matches the color perfect, and is easy to use. HOWEVER, it completely FRIED my AirPods Max by Halloween. I started noticing issues when they stopped automatically connecting when I took them off the stand. I was able to get them to connect by holding down the button or plugging them into a real charging cord for a minute. I chalked it up to the device losing charging ability or me not connecting them properly. After a couple of weeks of this, they stopped working entirely.
